Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a great two finger pillowy white head that is kept up into an irregular snowscape by active carbonation. Aroma of sweet bready malt, tropical fruit, toffee and citrus hops. Flavor of bready, lightly caramel malt, piney and citrus hops, citrus rind, stone fruit, finishing with lingering grassy and citrus hop bitterness. Very nice creamy body intensifies the dense fruit flavors. A top notch IIPA that balances body, fruit flavors and hoppiness excellently. My bottle is a few months over the best by date, but I believe it was held in a cooler room most of its life. The herval flavors hops do seem to be a bit attenuated for their intensity, but this is good enough as it is to encourage me to seek out a fresher bottle. Nicely done.

If there was a beer battle it would be between the West and East Coast IPAs. West likes them floral and sweet and East likes them hoppy and bitter. I like them in a clean glass with a good floral smell and a clean finish.

Wachusett Larry is an amazing beer for the price. $9 for a 6 pack of DIPAs? Yes please!

Can to Glass
A- standard good carmel color with a good size head on the pour.
S- Floral hops with a citris
T- Bitter malts to balance the floral hops. Sits well on the front of the tongue and doesn't overpower on the way down.
M- Heavy bitterness in the front with a clean following. The after-tast hangs around a little while and makes me crave a cracker or something to cut it.
O- Good beer for the price. It looks great, smells great, tastes like a bitter IPA but it feels like I should wash it down with something else to cut the glossy bitter feel in my mouth. Like cheddar cheese or crackers.

Great… Now I want nachos or cheese curds. Not saying it's a bad thing but I don't have either at home and this 8.5%ABV means I'm not driving anywhere.

12 oz bottle from Candia Rd.
Pours a slightly hazy medium golden color with a huge fluffy white head that shows moderate retention. Pine resin and grapefruit mixed with a bready caramel maltiness make up most of the aroma. Moderate hop bitterness with plenty of pine resin and citrus flavor. A bit sweet on the palette with lots of toffee and caramel and a hint of alcohol. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. A touch on the sweet side, but I could drink these.
