On-tap at the brewpub. I was told this was the base beer for their peach beer.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head leaving decent lacing.

Smells of light malts with moderate amounts of breadiness. Also present are hints of soft medium fruits – pears and apricots – with lighter hints of earthy hops.

Tastes very similar to how it smells, though the hops are more prevalent. Light malts with good amounts of bready flavors up front are joined shortly by moderate amounts of apricots. Midway through the flavor profile dries out a bit with the addition of leafy hops, carrying through to a moderately bitter ending. Mouthfeel is good, with smooth carbonation.

Overall this is a simple beer that doesn’t try and do too much. A good starter beer on a warm day.

Appearance: Displays a light golden-copper body with a 2-inch high head of off-white foam. Steady streams of effervescence cling to the inner sides of the glass.

Smell: Sweetened, water-logged bread -- take a couple packets of table sugar, mix it into a little water (no, not enough for a simple syrup), and then pour it onto some crustless sliced white bread -- that’s what we’re talkin’ about. Mild hint of peach, maybe apricot.

Taste: Follows along with the nose fairly well, again with sweetened, moistened bread with vague fruity accents. Hint of spice and no more than a slight bitterness. Drying, bready finish, though that light fruitiness lingers somewhat.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: It’s alright, you know, just something light, forgiving, and food friendly, in the same vein as their Golden Number Ale.
