Very nice golden-amber color with thick white head that lingers long in a pint glass. Tons of lacing along sides of glass.

Smell is malts and pine. Hints of fruit come through as well.

Taste is sweet malts up front and a nice pine and tangerine citrus later. Mild-moderate bitterness.

Mouthfeel is light to medium with nice average carbonation.

Overall this was a really nice IPA. Very well balanced and drinkable.

Notes from brewer: It is an American IPA with a big, bold tropical fruit and citrus hop flavor and hop aroma. There is a large hop grower that grows several of the new and experimental hops. Unfortunately he has 4 family members suffering from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease.) In an attempt to raise funds for a cure he came up with a cool idea to involve the brewing community. He invited about 30-40 breweries from around the country to participate and we were the only one from the southeast. He put together an amazing blend of some experimental hops that he is growing. He donated the hops to us and asked if we would donate $1 per pint of the beer sold to his foundation. So we are. The hops are amazing, our guests get to enjoy something really amazing and we’ll be contributing some dollars to help cure a terrible disease. The name Iron Horse was Lou Gehrig’s nickname. It is $6 per pint.

On tap at the Westside 5 Seasons.

Lemony flavor is unusual.
Feel: a bit harsh for style and ABV.
Exceptionally cloudy body with a remarkably durable off-white head.
Mild-moderate bitterness, going from near sweet to moderately bitter aftertaste.

O: distinct and decent IPA.
