Did a run through Saturday 02/21/15 and was a little disappointed by the selection. No Carton cans at all, no new Terrapin brews (only old moohoo and WnB), limited DuClaw that I saw, no neshaminy creek County line (just lager and cream), limited Port selection, no Clown Shoes NJ Rhapsody. Ended up leaving with a Victory Deep Cocoa and the previously mentioned old moohoo. I probably won't be making a stop here again.

As in the case of other stores I have gone to, I came here because of a specific beer that I saw on BeerMenus. This isn't a beer or liquor store, but there is a dedicated section to wine & beer. The people shopping there are there for the Whole Foods expierence (i.e. hip). They have a bunch of different shelves & fridges, with some for bombers, others for singles, and aisle-long fridge for six packs. Friendly service although didn't necessarily bump into a beer specialist. The selection is quite extensive with national craft brands and smaller local brands and some limited bottles. Overall good place to shop beer, and will definitely become my go-to in that area. (as a certain place right near there is on my do not go list)

Every time I go here, they seem to change their layout and beer section. I assume you know whole foods before you read this. Beer selection is pretty good getting Carton and other NJ locals. It does seem that the section gets smaller every time I get here. Worth a stop, not a long term goal

There is definitely a quality selection of beer here, and the people who run the place are into it as well. The mix is also pretty good between imports and domestic craft. I suppose 'balance' is the right word, because that's how they also carry singles vs. sixers vs. bombers, seasonals vs. standards, refrigerated vs. on the floor, pricey vs. normal- there is not too much/ not too little either way.

There is a very good reason to come out of your way, however, and that is because they are the only place in the area that sells Carton cans, which must always be refrigerated as per the brewer's instructions. So you know you are getting fresh beer.

Solid B+ overall.

This is probably my number 1 spot to grab beer in my area, mainly due to the convenience of being able to food shop and beer shop all at once. It seems like they get some pretty good/rare finds. I also like that you can mix and match your own six pack. Sure that gets to be a bit expensive, but it was nice way for me to break myself in.

When this place opened I was happy. But after a a couple of years of being a regular, I have come to love this place. The guy in charge of ordering and stocking the beer is on top of the ball and sets stuff aside for me when he got something special which I love. It is a big store and a supermarket at that. the selection is pretty good considering this fact. some stuff will sit on the shelves and others will not stay. Its worth the time to stop in, you are sure to find something you will not be disappointed in buying.

This was my second visit since they opened, and I was pleasantly surprised by how many good beers they have added. They carry a good selection of NJ beer (Ramstein, Flying Fish, etc) and a ton of bombers that I didn't remember from my first visit.

I was surprised to see Old Stock Cellar Reserve and some other rarities that had sold out in other stores. I ended up getting more help from another customer (who found me the last Firestone Walker DIPA) then anyone working there, but it's a big supermarket so I'll cut them some slack on that.

I wasn't a huge fan of the layout, especially when compared to the precise order of the wine section, but it is definitely worth the time mill around.

Stopped at the Whole Foods on my way over to NYC for work. This place looks brand new and its huge inside.

I'll start with the service as it was the best part. The beer manager, I want to say Michael, was awesome. We talked about beer for quite a bit and the state of things in NJ when it comes to craft beers and the market...etc..very knowledgeable guy, super friendly and very devoted to his job and his love of great beers.

Selection was definitely solid with plenty of PA/NY/NJ locals as well as some Terrapin, Left Hand, Rock Art bombers as well. Substantial cooler space as well as plenty of warm stuff. They have a good amount of home brew kits which I thought was pretty cool too. What better way to get people even more into beer but to have them brew their own. I know it got me even more hooked...

Anyways, definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area. They also do some tastings there and are doing a class with the guys from Ale Street News in the coming weeks.

This whole foods moving in was one of the best things to happen to overall beer availability in the area. Yes, its whole foods, and a bit pricey...but their selection is GREAT, so all the local businesses that sell beer have had to step up their game and provide reasonable low-balling of prices. Gotta love the free market and one company's desire to under price the other. lol

This whole foods is huge, one of the biggest in the corporation I believe. Their general selection is pretty much the best of all the stores in the area, plus its only 500 feet from my door! yay. lol

The selection of beer, wine, and now even some liquor here is VERY good...I'm not one for wine or booze, but as for the beer I really like the selection...they have a lot of the good local brews, a lot of crafts, euros, Trappists....some organics, a LOT of cold micros in the fridge and a more impressive lose bottle selection then ANY NJ grocery store I've seen.

The Service in the Beer department is usually VERY good, and the dudes usually know their stuff....a little on the hipster side and might try to pass PBR as a craft beer to the ignorant, but good dudes overall that really know their stuff if u ask a valid beer geek question.

Aside from just selling beer, this store also offers small 1-2gallon kits and grain/malt packages for home brew. Its nothing like corrados....but it would make a cool gift for a beer newb or college dude.

I'll def keep coming here for brew when I can. Love the place...besides, I dunno anywhere else nearby that has cold River Horse Oat Milk Stout!

Thought to randomly visit this as I hear Whole Foods Marketplace usually has some craft beer. Walked around and found random spots of the usual Sam Adams seasonals and regulars. Though a venture to the back reveals all the craft brew. Open cooler with a great selection of various beers (including BMC). To the right of this beer cooler is a doored cooler. These include the bombers, some half gallon growlers and mini-kegs. That day (9/28/10), they had two silver racks of assorted bombers and singles. Saw some Founders Curmudgeon, Chimay Gift Set and to my surprise a couple of bottles of Old Rasputin XI which is retired for well over a year now. I was presently surprised with this store and there's plenty of great things besides beer. Although no one approached me to help me, I still found what i was looking for. Oh and they had their own brew kits to sell with different hops to add as well, so that was a pleasant surprise as well.

As previous comments state, you're in Paramus NJ in a high end store, so the prices are usually a little high, you won't find anything too cheap (although there are exceptions)-

I enjoy the "big boy" selections here, usually a good rotation and some beers that are constant... 6-pack selection is the same with some rotation and constants...

I go here once a month usually, and never ever have been asked if I needed help-

It's a "jewel in the rough", pleasant stuff as long as you're willing to spend a couple of bucks-

As with all whole foods you can rely on them to have onee of the better selections of grocery stores out there, this being no exception. Primarily a great store for organic goodies, solid vitamin store as well. Good selection here is what I expected and what was delivered. Great choices in local and regional sixers with a decent selection of import 750's as well. Prices seemed a bit higher then other stores in the area, but that was no matter as it was still pretty darn close. Overall not a bad place, would not go here just for the beer, but if you are shopping anyway, its always a welcome sight.

Found towards the back of the Bergen Mall, this Whole Foods is a large supermarket full of aisles of select local and organic products, a food court, eating area and a few designated sections for coffee, seafood, bread, produce, wine and of course beer. The beer section is found towards the back between the cheese and seafood sections and is spacious, well-lit and organized.

An open shelved cooler houses numerous varied sixers and value packs - cans and bottles, imported and domestic. Adjacent to the right, is a four door cooler which holds the 22 oz. bombers, 750 mL's, 12 oz/355 mL singles and some growlers. And directly across from these coolers is a metal racked storage unit holding many more bottles. Everything basically checks out well in terms of date. It appears they rotate their bottles moderately to ensure the freshest bottles are close and upfront. Selection is full of the usual suspects (Stone, Rogue, Chimay, St. Bernardus), but there are also some novel items, like Allagash, DdC, Founders (no FBS) and Jolly Pumpkin. They also carry many Pumpkin Ales and Oktoberfests for the respective season. I was there in the summer one time and they carried the Espresso OA Yeti, so it's good to know they carry some seasonal gems too.

There didn't appear to be any designated beer employees around the area, so it's basically free roam and choice as you please. It's self-service so it's recommended to be attentive to dates and bottle quality. Price is fairly reasonable - nothing too unordinary. I purchased an 09 Stone IRS for $7, just a dollar or so off from what I've seen in other stores.

This WF is definitely above average from other supermarkets in terms of their products. Worth a stop in. Definitely check out the wine section if you're into that - it's pretty extensive. Or grab some of their food. A bit pricey, but delicious.

Drove over here after visiting the IKEA in the area just to see what they had to offer. The store itself is massive, with possibly everything you could need from a grocery. It took me a bit of searching to find the beer aisle, which was nestled towards the back, near their rather robust cheese and deli section. There's a cooler full of sixers and the like. Nestled right next to that is a row of freezers holding some more sixers as well as some of the bigger bottles.

Everything was relatively fresh among everything that I got to check. It's a very brightly lit store, and there are quite a few bottles sitting on the craft beer rack, so be sure to try and find something from either the back of the cooler of the back of the rack where it's shady. Selection is fairly good, with the usual suspects from Chimay, Unibroue, Smuttynose, Southern Tier, Troegs, Lindemans and more. I was surprised to find a good selection of Brassiere Du Ciel brews as well, including the famed Péché Mortel. You really could do worse, especially from a grocery store.

Service was decent, for the most part. The couple of associates I stopped to ask about beer were courteous in telling me they didn't really know anything about the beer section. The cashier was equally cordial when ringing me up. Nothing terrible, but nothing exciting either.

Prices were a bit up there, an average of $1-2 more than I'm used to seeing from beer stores. It's not a criminal offense, but if I lived in the area I certainly wouldn't want to pay this much every time I wanted some craft.

Overall, a pretty good, pretty pricey store. Wouldn't go out of my way to go there for beer, but maybe the next time I'm at IKEA, I'll swing by after, see if they have anything else.

First off, this is probably the nicest and largest Whole Foods I have ever been to.. Very nice environment and such.. The beer selection (this being one of the few whole foods in northern NJ that sells beer) isn't that big but its pretty good.. no wild rare finds, but a decent selection of stone, dogfish, some wyerbacher, southern tier, etc.. the usual craft stuff, basically. Though theres no rarities, its certainly a lot better than just macro's.. Another plus is the pricing, while some things were priced normally bombers of southern tier, I noticed, were more than $2 cheaper than I've seen them elsewhere. So I'm not sure I'd suggest going there just for the beer selection, but its certainly an awesome store to go to and the beer is a good plus.
