What beer is more spectacular! It's a super special beer that does not look like any other. I enjoyed it a lot. Opening a Dolle is always a show. But this surpasses almost everything.

Served at 52º in a tulip glass.

Voluminous head of tan foam that rises a few inches and settles after a few minutes.
Lasting surface coverage that breaks after the first sip, and some minor spotty lacing.
Aroma is great, old wet wood, apple butter, balsamic, and a light cheesy funk.
Taste is pleasantly tart and vinous, long lingering tannic finish and a fruity dark cherry note.
Smooth and medium bodied, effervescent with a smooth texture.
A complex sipper, rustic and barrel forward.

Overall this vintage doesn't disappoint, one of the best Oud Bruins out there, for nearly 15 years running.

330ml bottle served in my Oerbier stem (thanks again jedwards). Pours a murky mahogany with a voluminous, rocky, three inch, butter-colored head embedded with craters. Head eventually settles into a 1/8th inch consistent skim embedded with tiny pinpricks. Legs on this beer are amazing. Nose is slightly vinous with hints of leather, tobacco and yeast. Taste follows nose; however, there's also a lot of acetic acid present, bordering on vinegary, tannins and a slightly medicinal quality at the finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body and puckeringly tart with an assertive carbonation. Overall, solid but I don't see this holding up over time as it's already quite vinegary after two years.

A 330ml bottle, brewed in 2015 and bottled in April 2017. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.

Appearance: A dark brownish red colour with a two finger tanned head that had pretty good retention and left some sparse lacing.

Aroma: Tart, sour, cherry, vinous, red wine, vinegar and oak with hints of almond/marzipan at times.

Taste: Sweet and sour, tart, vinous, red wine, cherry, fig, vinegar and oak.

Mouthfeel: Dry, medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation.

Overall: Nice complexity, aroma and taste. Quite surprised that it’s supposed to be 13% ABV as you certainly don’t feel it while drinking.
