This bottle has been in my cellar a couple of years. Poured into a small vintage Rodenbach tumbler glass.
Body is reddish copper brown with a tan head that dissipates to an 1/8th inch cap. Not much lacing to speak of.
Smells of cherry fruit, a bit of vinegar, funk, tea, and brown sugar. Very intriguing.
This is an oud bruin with a unique character! There is a strong malt backbone to this, with a nice caramel element, and the beer has now oxidized some, adding more of a port quality. Still has a nice cherry tartness and a nice level of acid coming through. Has a lovely depth in the finish that lasts, like a fine liquor, along with a bit of cinnamon spice. The stickiness of the beer on my lips says there is more sugar in this than I am tasting, and it is very well balanced by the tartness, like a nice cherry pie.
Body is medium, mainly due to the sugars, and the carbonation gives this a lovely creamy mouthfeel.
This beer is just delightful. The alcohol is exceptionally well integrated, but at 13%, makes this a sipper. It makes a good dessert beer.

Leather brown with garnet highlights + a fast-fading ribbon of off-white froth; wine, wet wood, red currants, winter spice on the nose; walnuts, ginger cake, red plum, waxy leather, a whack of tannins, red wine vinegar, and a pepper finish; dry, warming, lt-med.

Gives off balsamic aromas but more so wine and wood individually.
Similarly the taste ranges from sharp, fruity acid to deep dark candy sugar - there are sips that are bracingly tart + sips that aren’t sour at all.
It all has a library mustiness on the end - that’s 12 years of age, no doubt.
Dunno if to call this a bruin or BDSA but it’s shifty + mature + lovely.
A pleasure.
