It is a run down looking Kwicky Mart from the outside but very different inside. They have the best selection of singles I have ever seen probably. Every beer they have is available as a single. Nice. Prices are on par with Specs and Specs has a little more selection but D&Q has things that Specs doesn't. They have a nice selection of glassware like others have said.
The guy at the counter was awesome. He talked to me about each beer I was getting and how they would age. A very welcome addition to the Houston beer scene.

Not much to look at but a great place for beer. You will feel like a kid in a candy store. Great selection of local and international beers. For example, had some German beers I had never before saw for sale. Cashier was nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

Yes, i scored a perfect 5 on this joint. Located near the cusp of Montrose where everybody and everything is as diverse as you cant get. Dont know how the owner has his connections but he is able to get a whole varitiey of beers from West to East Coast. In addition to beer, he has a small wine collection to sale too. Owner is knowledge on a whole array of products not just beer.
While the main competition is Spec's, neighborhood bars and the local HEB, he still blows them out the water.

Out of the way place. Selection in terms of more likely to find something on the harder to get side, is superior to the big box. Selection in general is pretty great. Friendly on my experiences.

I drove 25 miles to visit after seeing it on BA. Just as advertised, they had a great selection of craft beers. If Spec's has the same beer it will probably be cheaper but they have some hard to find beers. I was hoping to score some Yellow Rose but they didn't have any that day. Still made a nice little haul of singles and bombers. I didn't have a lot of interaction with the owner but I overheard him helping another customer and I could tell he was knowledgeable about craft beer. My wife and I were meeting up with family so I didn't have a lot of time to shop the peripherals...glassware, t-shirts etc. but I'll get back there fairly soon. Worth a trip, for sure. And disregard the poster who implied it was a dodgy area of Houston. It's just...fringe Montrose!

This is a tiny little bottle shop in the middle of a bad part of town with Asian owners that are a bit rude sometimes. Luckily all of these bad things are saved by their selection. The store is small but only has craft beer bottles and good variation including fresh Yellow Rose every week.

D&Q is the best place for rare and limited release beers in Houston. My first time walking in there, FW Velvet Merkin was simply sitting on the shelf, next to Abyss and day-old Yellow Rose. On top of that, the owner that's always there is awesome and knows his stuff.
The outside of the building might look a little sketchy, but you forget all about that as soon as you walk inside and see hundreds of singles just waiting to be tasted.
Also, I recommend following them on twitter to see when they get something new.

Great place to find craft beer in Houston. Superb single bottle collection which is great for trying things. The owner is good people, especially if you make yourself a regular. He consistently posts what he receives each day on Twitter, which I've also come to appreciate. The only thing that i noticed is they don't have Founders. I keep meaning to ask the own why...
Also, someone mentioned that this store is in a rough part of town. Clearly, that person isn't from Houston.
Houston is a more diverse and eclectic city then most other places (Dallas, OKC, NOLA, & San Antonio). D&Q is in a perfectly safe part of town where you have absolutely nothing to worry about other then finding all the beer you want to take home. : )

This place was an amazing find! Best place in H-Town to buy craft singles and special releases. Walked in for the first time, not knowing what to expect and ended up spending over an hour there! Once I was looking totally confused, the owner there(Brandon?) spent at least 20 minutes pointing out things he thought stood out to him and had no problem with me app scanning his choices for confirmation. In the end I walked out with 20 highly rated Biers and a definite sh*t eating grin I couldn't shake. This will DEFINITELY be a regular stop for me from now on ;)

There's a very good selection of craft beer They receive most of the releases (limited and standards), and many limited releases from craft brewers from across the US.

The owner is super cool and sold me one of his rare beers once because he sold out before I got there. Anytime I stop in for a rare beer, if he doesn't have it, I still buy something out of gratitude for this good service and selection.
