Quality-good price points on most products
Service-cute & friendly staff , also knowledgeable ,
Selection-ok/respectable International , American beers , good/great Canadian beers choices ,

Stopped in during a recent visit. It's a fairly small store with a good cold beer selection at the back. They had some nice beers (e.g. Tilquin), and some that others stores did not. However, the selection was fairly small, and a bit higher priced than others in the area. Worth a stop.

A clean store with more open space than the average liquor store, which was nice. Almost all of the beer is in a line of coolers. They don't have a massive selection but they seem to make the most of their couple doors allocated to craft beer. They a good selection of the better local beers, upright, some jolly pumpkin, and a couple belgian selections. I was pleased that they had a couple of fantome beers in as BC just got a small shipment and i hadn't been able to find any so far by talking with beer buyers and checking some of the other better bottle shops.
Overall pretty good. Not the best selection on the island but certainly well above average. And their prices were lower than some of the other stores with similar selection.

Hillside Liquor ranks as one of the best places in Victoria to get a wide selection of craft brews. Their focus is on Victoria and American craft beers. Here you can get Moylans, Sierra Nevada, Green Flash, North Coast, Bear Republic and more (and most of these are impossible to find anywhere else in Victoria). Tiny Belgian selection.
The staff here is helpful, though not uber-knowledgeable. They have some people who care about bringing in craft beers and are working to expand their range (from what I hear they are bringing in Dieu De Ciel, Nogne, etc... in the near future. For the craft beer drinker in Victoria this is a must-stop place.
For those visiting from elsewhere, they carry a wide selection from Victoria's microbrewers, some of which are incredibly difficult to get elsewhere. They carry a wide selection of Canoe's bottled line, Spinnakers, Phillips and Driftwood along with more streamlined BC crafts like Lighthouse, Cannery, and Granville Island.
Prices are usually around government prices but with some of the specialty products getting a slight mark-up - but hey, if you can't get it elsewhere I'm willing to pay the extra dollar to try things like Hopsickle or Green Flash Imperial IPA.
Edit: They seem to have cut back on an emphasis to bring in and promote new craft beer. Still a good place to go, lots of great imports.
