It's amazing what can be packed into such a low gravity beer.Plenty of clean malt on the palate and for once a Greene King beer which doesn't taste of...Greene King.
I chose this beer as I was going to drive back home on a filthy night and the 2.8% was the clincher. But it's IMO a preferable beer to GK IPA

A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of March 2013. Picked up from a supermarket a while back and stashed in my garage. This is the second GK beer to reuse the name/brand of a brewery that they acquired some years ago.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. A clear orange-amber colour with medium carbonation. Forms a decent head of white foam that lasts for a minute or two before disappearing. Aroma of caramel malt with hints of fruity ale yeast, grass and mild stewed hops.
Tastes of caramel malt with a dry finish. Notes of fruity ale yeast, grass/hay, subtle earthiness and stewed hops. Well attenuated, with a mild bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, but the body could be a tad chewier. Quite astringent, with an aftertaste of grassy stewed hops and faint caramel.
Not too shabby for a 2.8% brew, but it's character is pretty dull nonetheless. Reminds me of GK IPA and many of their other brews - the same yeast profile is obvious. The only thing it's got going for it is drinkability; if you were looking to avoid too much booze then this would be ideal. Well crafted but bland. No need to seek it out.

Slightly reddish amber coloured beer with moderate head dissipating to the rim. The nose has me thinking of lemon and dried fruit. It isn't as sweet as the nose suggests. Indeed before some citric hops kick in it's the carbonation which has the greatest impact on me. Once the hops kick in it's pleasant but certainly not bold. File under session beer?

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a reddish amber colour with a small and quick to fade white head. Some lacing present.
Smells a bit off; malty.
Tastes malty and refreshing, slight hops too.
Overall a great beer for the abv but not my preferred drink.

New lower alcohol beer for the UK tax regime.
Actually tastes pretty good - can't do rasberry with a hint of grapefruit type of reviews sorry
It has good body and an educated drinker who tried it thought it was maybe high 3s which is pretty good
I would definitely drink this again

Brewed to take advantage of new (2012) tax concessions (beers under 2.9%)
a good looking beer, amber with brownish hues nice white head that sticks.
Distinct aroma deep hops and that old GK yeasty note
quite a deep rich flavour for such a low grav beer
Malts start the proceedings hops follow warming the palate nicely then the GK yeast taste rushes in with some peppery bitterness.
Nice mouthfeel and low carbonation brings together a better than expected beer.
Alright, I give it six thumbs up.
