Had this for the first time in Appelebee's, it was their guest beer of the month. I like Irish Reds and this was very good to excellent on the first glass. Smooth with a caramel/butterscotch taste, it was easy to put a few down quickly. I made a special trip to the brewery in Riverhead, where Greg showed me around and indicated that they were going to be bottling shortly from their Riverhead location. I can't wait, this Ale tastes great!

12 oz bottle, w/o freshness info..
Uninspiring look, minor head, very quickly departs leaving no head, no film, no collar and surprise, no lace.
Bleh..some caramel malt notes are the "highlights" here. Low carbonation and zero reason to go for more then a few sips...pass this one by

Pours hazy, tan in color, with minimal head. Taste is toasted malt, meadow, grain, and slight earthy hops. Medium bodied and mostly sweet. Tasty, sessionable, but I prefer others in the style. Nothing to rush out to get but nothing I would pass over either.

This brew was served at The Maple Tree (barbeque; highly recommended) on 5/24 and again 5/27 during my vacation in Riverhead.
It's a thick dark orange color, a little heavier in the middle, with an off-white head just taller than one finger. Retention is good, and it sits at that height pretty consistently while leaving creamy broken sheeting in its wake.
This beer has what I expect and hope for in an Irish red: it's very well balanced and isn't heavy in either aroma or flavor but offers strong hops and malts. It's got some caramel and breads balanced with earth and softer green bitterness. It has a great complement of sweetness and bitterness working in accord. The flavor is a touch deeper than the aroma.
The body is medium, and this wouldn't work as well as a classic Irish style if it was much heavier. It's got lots of depth, but what really impresses me is a clean and robust balance against an incredibly silky smoothness that coats the tongue without slickness and flows like silk. Impressively, it doesn't give up crispness for all the smoothness.

A - Pours red and settles to a reddish brown. A reasonalbe amount of foam.
S - Good smell of caramel hops. A little bit of toffee and butterscotch is there as well.
T - This is a tasty and dry irish red. At first is isn't quite special, but it tends to win you over.
M - A little light, this is an easy drinker.
O - A solid and enjoyable effort from the local folks. I would try this on tap if I came across it.

Pours a murky lemon iced tea color. The off white head is short and wispy and settles into a light ring.
The aroma is bready with notes of caramel and honey. Not much else going on in the aroma.
The taste is bready with a caramel presence. Slightly bitter from some grassy hops. Brown sugar notes round out the sweetness. Some earthy notes to help balance.
The feel is moderate with tingly carbonation. Sweet on the palate with a grassy bitterness. Slightly dry in the finish.
Fairly standard amber/red ale. Not as dry as most which is nice. Decent flavors but boring.

I love red beer and this one is pretty good... the best quality was its appearance which was beautifull. The smell and taste were okay, nothing spectacular in general but a great beer to bring by to drink with friends instead of bringing Miller's or Buds.

On tap at Mr. Beery, Bethpage, NY.
Poured a light copper hue with a one and a half finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a light caramel malt and a grassy hop.
The taste consisted of a light malt with a touch of earthiness and a balancing hop.
The mouthfeel was toward the thinner side of the style.
Overall a good and servicable ale.
