this was one of the better offerings I had from this brewery on the day we went for a brewery tasting. Very drinkable PA at just over 6%. If I didn't have a nice connection at treehouse for lights on I would drink this all day at the beach

My son and his girlfriend picked up a growler of Long Ireland Pale Ale at the brewery July 2016. Chilled ale was poured into a highball glass to give a large head. Head was impressive, rocky top and fairly long lasting, with some lacing generated during consumption.
There was a minimal aroma. The light amber beer has a pleasant flavor. The hop bitterness and moderate hop flavor were just right for my palate. The malt body was noticeable, but in the background.
This ale reminds me of the Pale Ale from the Blue Point Brewery, their Long Island neighbors. Both have the flavor and balance to be candidates for my everyday summer beer.
Comparing my review with others suggests that the formulation might have changed at some point. Some previous reviews suggest a deeper amber color and a maltier palate.

Pours hazy, orange-brown in color, with one inch head. Taste is graham cracker, husk, toasted malt, and light pine. Very easy drinker that is very much on the maltier side of pale ales that I have had. I like this one and will pick it up again.

The aroma hits of pine, hints of citrus, herbal.
The beer hints of citrus up front, but then is domianted by a heavy piney bitterness. There's a light biscuity malt to help balance that out, but instead, as the beer lingers, more and more bitterness sticks onto the palate.

A really nice balance.
Caramel from the malt comes first and is quickly checked by the hops. Compared to similar Pale Ales, the sweetness is a bit more pronounced, but in my opinion this adds to its complexity rather than detracting from its style.
One of those that I simply keep coming back to.
Even better on tap at their tasting room (maybe slightly less sweet than the bottle if that makes sense).
