went in to check out some art and was pleasantly greeted buy a nice selection of beer. the bottle selection was very nice but a bit pricy and the main focus is clearly their on tap selection.

all the taps are local expect for one (dfh 60 min} and the prices are all right. one that stood out was 2.00 for lone star pints (if i drank lone star id be all over this deal). the rest of the pints are from 3-5 dollars a pint.
they had all from independence, live oak, real ale, and 512 brewery. also one or two shiners.

the food is very coffee shop oriented and is not somewhere to go if you want a meal. i got an independence ipa and a poppy seed bagel with onion cream cheese at 11:15 in the morning and was convinced there is no better way to start the day. a great combo. the woman next to me got a grilled chicken and pasta plate.

this place might fool you into thinking it is a regular east side coffee shop but dont be fooled. good grub, good local brews, and a friendly relaxed environment.

I was surprised to read that this place was supposed to have a good tap list, so I had to check it out. Good tap list is right, best coffee shop tap selection I have seen. Mostly local stuff, lots of Independence taking up space, but also LO and (512). We had a 512 Pecan Porter and a Dales PA can, price was reasonable, about $3.50 each during the afternoon.
The atmosphere is pretty much like any other Austin coffee shop. I can't say that it's any worse or better than any other coffee shop Ive been into, but it's no pub. It did feel a bit strange drinking beers at a coffee shop, but it would be a great compromise for a group looking for both coffee and good brews... actually, not sure if I would bring a group here really... maybe for when you want a beer and to read a book and/or sit in front of your laptop for hours. Location is good, I can see this being a great meeting spot for Eastside residents. Right across street from Eastside Cafe.
