On draft at the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv

Pours a dark amber color with two fingers of creamy head

Nose is all toasted malt, very little hop character. Taste is similar, and there is moderate carbonation.

This is pretty much the definition of a middle of the road beer.

Look: Copper colored with a nice white head and good retention.

Smell: Heavy on the bread and malt. Not much else there.

Taste: Thin bready malt, without much else there. A tiny hint of bitterness in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Average thickness, decent carbonation.

Overall: Perfectly average. Almost nothing about this beer stands out as a dunkel lager, but it's better than adjunct lagers or cheap pale lagers.

This is maybe the best Israeli beer that I had so far- and even so it is just like an average dark lager...
... but should it be more than that? We are not talking about craft beers here, just an ordinary Everyone's Beer.
Looks a bit strange with its greyish brown color but doesn't smell bad - or good either. But the same is true for the taste as well. The positive thing about it is that it's not bad. It is okay. It leaves a bit weird filmy aftertaste in the mouth but otherwise drinkable as it is. Not good - not THAT bad.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a light Amber brown with a small head. The aroma is stale (obviously this is an old beer past it's prime). this beer cannot be properly rated. I drank this many times in Israel and this doesn't compare.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark coppery amber with a one finger off-white head with good retention and thick lacing. Aroma of dark biscuity malt, brown bread, hints of nuts, almost a bock profile. Flavor is mild dark biscuit malt, brown bread, a little caramel and nuts, finishes a little thin with some light grassy hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Not too bad for a dunkel from a brewery with "industries" in its name, but definitely an industrial beer, although a decently made one. As with many mass market beers, the flavors are quite nice, but seem dialed back. The hops are light but tired. This is a beer I wouldn't mind finding in a place with mass market light lagers, but it would not be a choice if a German dark lager was available. Good and drinkable with no real faults, but unmemorable. A few extra points for coming from a country not known for a robust craft beer scene.

Copper amber color with decent head with thin retention and good lacing. Smells doughy malt. Tastes of mildly roasted barley malt stale cracker. Finishes dry and slightly sweet. Light-bodied.

Surprisingly good dark lager that seems to be one of the country's most widely available beers. Not as watery as American lagers. Will definitely drink again!

Pours a clear, dark gold color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of sweet malt, pale malt, hint of yeast, hint of caramel malt, and slight adjunct. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Fits the style of a Munich Dunkel Lager. Tastes of adjunct, sweet malt, pale malt, hint of hop, hint of caramel malt, and slight metallic notes. Overall, weak appearance, decent blend, but aroma and body dominated by adjunct.

This is a top Israeli beer . Drank it couple of times.
It is a lager with a reach taste like ale .
The resamblance in taste is to the hoegaarden. It is the lager mate of the hoegaarden. Hoegarden has more complicated aroma but the resamblance in taste is the .
I think Gold star is one of the best lagers outthere.
As hoegaarden is one of the best ale outthere .
If you"ll test hoegaarden snd Goldstar side by side you will feel the resamblance.
To be like hoegaarden you must be a very good beer.
