11.2 oz bottle exp date 12/OCT/24 into a tall Lager glass.
L: SRM 7-8 Pours clear light burnished copper with a thin eggshell white head that recedes quickly to a thin skin & edge foam, good light carbo bubbles, med-light random lacing.
S: Caramelized malts, distant dark fruits, brown bread dough, raisins, dates.
T: Light toasted caramelized malts, lightly sweet dark fruits, raisins, dates, a hint of soft brown bread, toasted grains, distant zest. Taste overall is thin and semi-bright.
F: Lightly brisk then moderately smooth with a med-fast clean finish. It is lightly-bodied and is very lightly drying.
O: A good tasting and easy drinking dark beer that dwells on the light side. Nice refreshing feel. It's Kosher. Compare it to Mic Amber Bock. It's okay in its style.

Clear bright amber copper appearance with a very sparse white loose head and sparse dotty thin lacing. Grain, roasted malt, onion. Medium body, moderate to light carbonation.

Jan. 2012: Bottle, as Goldstar Dark Lager Beer, kindly shared by our beerpal Olav. ABV is 4.9%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. "Industrial" moderate lager aroma and flavour, sweetish, with hints of wet cardboard.

Look - 500 ml bottle (purchased in Jerusalem) poured into a 12 oz glass. Light copper in color, a sizable head that mostly dissipates, leaving behind little to no lacing.
Smell - toasted bread and light sweetness, with little to no hop scents detected.
Taste - toasted grains come forward, balanced by moderate bitterness. malty flavors linger a bit, but otherwise, finish is very clean.
Feel - light bodied, high carbonation, and reasonably low ABV at 4.9%.
Overall - an average tasting dunkel, but pretty good for the most popular beer widely available in the country.

330ml bottle into a pint glass. No freshness dating that I could find.
Looks okay in the glass. Medium amber body. Small white head disappears quite quickly, no lacing to speak of.
Faintly malty aroma.
On tasting, well, not much going on. Everything here is light. Maltiness, sweetness.
Mouth between thin and medium, finish a little malty.
Overall, hard to think of this as a dunkel. Quite pale and no bite. There is no bad aftertaste, so there's that. Not much taste at all.

The pour is brown colored with a small amount of carbonation. The taste is brown bread & cereal grains. Oh well, at least now I can say that I had a beer from Israel. There is no date on the bottle. All in all, it's an okay beer & worth a try. Cheers! C

Bottle brought back to me from Israel. Very solid easy to drink beer. Nice amber color. Smooth with a little maltiness. Not a strong dark but good for drinking with a meal.

(330 ml brown bottle, 27417; purchased cold single at Shangy's... poured into a fat tulip)
L: polished-clear, dark amber near tawny-colored liquid; big, messy, tight, off-white foam on pour... keeps a steady, messy cap, but the liquid color is more Vienna lager instead of Munich dunkel
S: honestly smells like a German pils with a hint of caramel/honey in the back; bit of clove or ethanol spice for color; does gradually reveal some bread crust, but shows little base malt... some grassy and floral highlights creep out, but altogether never reaches any bold potency
T: the immediate taste, however, does briefly express at least the melanoidin caramelly underbelly of a dunkel, though the aftertaste is several notches shy of the relative malt richness of said style... bit of a shrubby, earthy (tannic?) bitterness causing some noise... honestly, very weak flavor impact
F: smooth and sedate across the palate, mellow foamy sizzle as it goes... rather drinkable, but I'd rather swill it from the bottle cold, keep things chilly
O: ain't a Munich dunkel by sight for sure, and pretty much by taste as well - that's of course important psychologically, and I refuse to accept this as valid attempt/example of the style... has an industrial, syrup foundation, luckily shook up by the woody spice... I'd drink it in Israel, but I've no intention of ever visiting (1615)

Decanted from a 11.2 oz (330 ml) bottle into a custom taster pint glass; no production stamp.
A: Pours a crystal clear, light copper to copper color with excellent, wheat color head, two finger head formation, solid retention (at least a finger) and solid persistent rings of sticky lacing.
S: Tangy initially. Aromas of caramel, cacao, bread, and molasses are most evident initially, but resolve to a light more grassy scent.
T: Semisweet. Palate follows the nose. Light bitterness contributes a fairly clean finish.
M: Medium bodied. Solid persistence of effervescence.
O: A really enjoyable, Munich Dunker Lager, but really reminiscent of a Doppelbock. Drinkable and very enjoyable.
