In the town of Canaan, right near the intersection of Rt 7 & Rt 44, in a strip mall with a Stop & Shop Supermarket. Has 50 ft of coolers along the back wall with an excellent selection of craft beers, including a lot of small, local Connecticut & Massachusetts breweries. There is also a really good collection of bombers against the far wall along the east side of the store. Also one cooler with singles near the front (can't break up the six/four packs in the main cooler area), but this were mostly tall boys of bud, coors, etc. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

In a little strip mall with a grocery store and a couple other retailers is this spot. Although it is not a very large store, they make good use of the room that is allocated for beer. You can expect to find regional beers like Berkshire Brewing, Thomas Hooker, Captain Lawrence, amongst others. Aside from those, they represent other U.S. craft brewers well, usual suspects such as Stone, North Coast, etc. And for those of you craving something from abroad, they carry a nice selection of Belgian, German, Japanese and other beer. Staff is friendly enough, wasn`t in there for too long. Worth popping into and spending some $ when in the area.

Hit this place on the way home from Barrington Brewery. Glad I did. They had some Barrington Singles, CBC all the available NebCo stuff (including IST), all available Old Burnside offereings and a nice selction of Rogue. They even had these mini Kegs of Yellow Snow. The nice find was a Sierra Nevada 30th Barleywine (which will not make it through this evening). The service was great, one of the staff came over to ask if he could help. Going to try to make it to Great Barrington several times a year and Stateline will be a stop!

I recently moved to the northwest corner of CT and was in search of a solid beer store close by. It was while driving to the Stop and Shop in Canaan that I came across Stateline.
Upon walking in and going to the large wall of coolers in the back I found exactly what I was looking for. They don't necessarily have a huge selection, but what they do carry is all the local-ish/regional beers that one would be looking for. Great Barrington, Berkshire, Hooker, New England Brewing Co., Ommegang, Southern Tier, etc. They also have a cooler of bombers from some west coast favorites like Stone and Rogue, but what I really was in search of were the more local NY/CT breweries.
Their prices are absolutely reasonable. $8 for 6 packs of NEBco. Sea Hag and Elm City and $3.75 for Berkshire Bombers. In essence, this store is a real gem hidden in the middle of rural Connecticut.
The cherry on top was the staff. After spending some time looking around one of the staff, who had been in the back room when I came in, checked in with me to say that if there was anything they did not carry that would love nothing more than to order it for me and hold it in the back room.
Upon visiting a second time I was fortunate enough to stock up on Berkshire Oktoberfest and as I was checking out their "beer guy" asked if I wanted to try some before leaving the store. Right next to the counter he had a bottle on ice with some taster glasses and let me try what I was buying.
All in all, a great little store with pretty good prices and a desire to really make everyone happy. It's by no means a beer utopia, but they will do whatever they can to make their customers happy.

Moved to the NW corner of CT from that bastion of beer, Brooklyn, NY last fall. Finding Stateline Wine and Spirits has been a revelation. They will order any beer you want and have a great selection of craft beer and imports. Very good service and the whole staff is very friendly. They have the latest brews from Ommegang, Brooklyn Local 2, Flying Dog's Raging Bitch and many of my other favorites. Prices are as low or lower as I've seen on higher end beer. Haven't looked at the American Adjunct Lager prices but I'm sure they are priced appropriately.

A Great Selection of brews in the sticks of Connecticut(NW corner- on the border of Mass. and 15 min. from NY). 16 door cooler with shared space for imports, micros, domestics, malt bevs, and 2 doors of micro-brew bombers and growlers. In-store beer and wine tastings every Saturday afternoon. If they do not have your brew, they can get it whithin a couple of days (that is, if it's available in the sticks). It's an oasis in cow country. Ask for Dylan or Steve for help with your selections, they will be more than happy to talk brew-ha's with you.
