Light gold color. Large white foamy head. Aroma is barnyard, must and leather. It’s somewhat funky. A medium bodied saison. Malts are fruity and sweet. Touches of leather and must. Nicely balance. Very flavorful. No alcohol bite. Finishes very clean. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Nice saison, just funky enough and still very drinkable.

Sampled at the 7th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Festival at the Carlsbad Pizza Port. Had a cloudy straw color and a fluffy white head that left clumps of lace behind. The aroma had a slightly citrus note over a grassy malt scent and a nose-tweaking sourness. Each sip revealed a grainy pale malt flavor with a hoppy citrus bite. The finish had a real sourness to it as well as a ghostly alcoholic note. The feel was light- to medium-bodied, and a bit raw.
Overall, this was most likely the beer I enjoyed the least at the festival. The sourness was just too pervasive and the feel was too raw to make it very easy to drink. Not something I’d get again.

Sampled @ Strong Ale Fest San Diego

The beer pours a beclouded golden amber color with a modest head that is bright white and creamy in texture after desiccation the lace forms a fine covering for the glass. Nose is musty, with sweet malt tones, different, and the start ambrosial with a nice malt profile and the top moderate in its feel on the palate. Crisply acidic finish that does not defeat the spiciness of the hops, somewhat tart and very dry aftertaste, not your typical saison, sampled this one three times to get a feel for the flavors.

Sampled at the Seventh Annual San Diego Strong Ale Festival in a 4 ounce pour.

Straw colored and hazy pour into the glass with an initially good head that fades over time while sticking hard to the glass.

The aroma is deeply earthy without resorting to a mushroom uamai sensation. Large spices come sailing out of the glass on a bed of vicious carbonation.

Flavor has a good rich malt base that is quickly swamped by enough sweet and savory spices to keep a bakery in operation for a year. This spiciness carries through a strong and slightly sour finish that is brisk but tiring.
