Very floral/grassy/herbal aroma and flavor. Some malt there to back it up and very easy to drink. Just a touch of citrus on the back palate. This is definitely a more classic, balanced IPA. The hops are there, but they play a co-operative role with the malt.

Bomber poured into a Stein. Nice aroma, minimal lacing and good mouthfeel with tasty lingering hop bitterness! Well done.

MFG 1/20/15. Drank 2/26/15. Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a chilled glass. Very earthy aroma, smells of fresh cut grass or pine. Colour is golden orange with off white head. Flavour struck me at first as a typical IPA, though not overly hoppy. But then it doesn't take long before the subtle citrus flavours come through. It goes down easy.

Bomber into a snifter. The brew appears a clear copper color with white spotty to stringy lacing effect.

The smell is herbal and grassy with a bit of dank appeal. As more whifs are taken, it has a solid green grassiness and somewhat soapy feel.

The taste is herbal, grassy, pine-like yet fruity with rinds/zest. Some vegetative aspects are also included with a little soapiness and caramel malt in the aftertaste.

This is medium bodied and modestly carbonated. Not bad. Ive never had anything from this brewery before this experience but something about this seens very familiar. Thanks again Tim for the share.

As drinkable as any well known IPA. The rating system seems mute here with such a style -- little bit bitter, a little citrus, some malt character, and clean but hoppy --it's right there with 'Lag,' Stone,' and '60.' Really, not lying. However, I prefer 'Hops of Wrath' because of historical significance and I like the brand. One aspect that is left out of beer rating, for obvious reasons, is labeling. The allure of labeling is hardly given recognition. These guys seem to understand that the dust bowl is still very much part of the Central Valley and California's agricultural history. I can appreciate a beer that signifies - through its bitter notes - the residual tone of 'Grapes of Wrath' and all its (un, yet)savory infamy. Try it sometime and commemorate a swallow to an American hero- Tom Joad;)
