Charlie's is one of those liquor stores I go to when I'm looking for that odd beer that I haven't yet tried or found at the other local liquor stores. The selections are usually diverse, but being a small store, they don't have a lot in stock. The biggest hit is that they are a small store, so the selection suffers a bit. Worthy of checking out, but don't get your hopes high to find alot of the high end brews you may be looking for.

EDIT - 12/10/10: I stopped out to Charlie's today to see what they had in stock. While perusing I noticed some Kellerbier (4.5% ABV) I hadn't tried before so I looked at the dust covered bottles...only to discover they were all 4 1/2 years past the best by date! I also noticed many of the craft beer they carry were layered with dust, but unfortunately most of them didn't have best by dates.

I let the staff know about the very old beer and he seemed to not really care, stating "yeah, I heard there was some old stuff back there". I even tried educating him by letting him know that the low ABV beers usually don't cellar well and he just shook his head.

Now, old beer might be a good thing if it's high enough in ABV and stored out of direct light (cellared)...Not the case here, as it's stored in a 75 degree store under bright lights all day.

I won't be buying my beer at Charlie's anymore.
