First off, finding the place: It is tucked well off 18 South, next to an A&P, behind K-Mart, shortly before Brunswick Square Mall. If you approach this as looking for a liquor store, you have not a prayer.

Good size store, clean, well-organized.

Nice to actually hear phrases like "can I help you?" and "are you looking for anything special?"

Good to see a selection of Climax somewhere besides Oak tree.

A good solid selection, good prices. Better than any of the other local stores I have tried over the years. A definite stop when in the area, but not as worthy of a trek as Oak Tree Buy-Rite or Sommerville SuperSaver.

Excellent liquor store. Has the best selection of beer I've seen in the area. Very large selection of American/Canadian craft beers, Belgians, German, English, and eastern European beers. Also have a good selection of vintage beers. They also have some nice glassware. Most of the better beers are available in singles but are warm. This really isn't a problem however as they have a quick chiller and can chill anything you want within 5 minutes.

They also have a very knowledgeable staff, Jim the beer guy is the best. They also have beer tastings in-store, though not all the time. They also have a large selection of cold beers in the case in the back but the selection of cold craft beers isn't that big. Overall excellent store with an excellent selection and great staff.

Once you realize that Marketplace is there, you find a really, really good store with a fine selection. The staff is for the most part knowledgeable and dedicated to promoting good beer. The store is organized and has a nice flow to it. You will find single bottle and warm micros/ international beer on the far left aisle facing the coolers, wine in the middle, bulk beer on the right, and coolers lining the back wall with a decent mix of mass produced beer, micros, international gems, and local favorites.

The store has a very good selection. It has the biggest line of Rogue beers in the area. A good place to find single Belgium, German, and various micro singles. The store always has a mix 12 pack of a different local micro brewery that I have not tried, whether it is Troeg, Lancaster, Victory, Riverhorse, Flying Fish, etc. I have never found an out of date beer on their shelves. Lastly, tasting of fine beers are a weekly event at the store. If you are visiting the area, I highly recommend that you stop in.

Finding out that there is a liquor store with a pretty good selection of singles and sixers in my town made my day. After visiting the place i walked out very satisfied. Nice selection of Belgian, German, English, and the locals. They have everything from Orval to trois pistoles. My only complaint is that they have a good number of singles in the fridge which means you have to hurry home or else you'll skunk your beer. Guess its a good thing i live in the town.

Check out this place if your in the area or theres nothing else decent in your neck of the woods.

Best kept secret in East Brunswick. Found it myself by accident on a pizza run to the pizza place next door.
Real nice selection of Jersey,Pa,and Delaware brewed beers.
The back wall is all coolers filled with a range of national brands to some excellent local micro-brews.
Make sure you round the back right corner for some seasonal specialties
Also check out the first aisle on the left for a collection of singles the will blow your mind.
The staff is very knowledgable...just ask if you don't see it.
Well worth the trip.

Summerhill is located off Route 18 about 3 miles from the NJ Turnpike. They need to find a new landmark to tell you over the phone since they said behind the K-mart which appeared to be closed. It is a stripmall I happened to glance out of the corner of my eye that said Summerhill so I drove back and pulled in.

The staff was 100% helpful on the phone and in the store. They take quite a bit of pride in the store and rightfully so. It was extremely clean, with no dust on the bottles and no out of date bottles in site.

The selection was good and is supposedly going to grow. The staff said the owner was planning to order every beer available for distribution in NJ to work toward having the most comprehensive selection available. They do not have a ton of room, so figuring that out could be a chore. The Belgian selection is good as is the East Coast selection and others, but the West Coast selection is noticeably absent.

The prices are very good, and some of the best I have seen on certain beers. The staff was friendly and helpful. I spoke with them in person and on the phone.

I'd suggest a trip to Summerhill, especially when they increase the selection. [Just make sure if you are traveling on 287 you skip getting off at Exit 9 to get on 18, that road is brutal with the afternoon traffic when going by the Rutgers stadium. Better to go ahead to the Turnpike and then get off at Exit 9 there to travel down 18 to the store.]
