Pours into a black body with a large tan head that has decent retention, good carbonation and reallly good lacing. The smell is some chocolate, hints of malts and hops, but mostly all blueberry. The taste is strong with blueberries and chocolate with hints of malts, hops, oats and a pine taste to it. It has a dry finish to the taste with some bitter chocolate in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, but yet rather dry. The sweetness of the blueberries and the bitterness of the chocolate is very well balanced, and with the smoothness the oats provide make this a nice drinkable beer. Very good beer and for just $1.59 not a bad price either.

Nice dark brown with a slight tinge of red when held up to the light. Small dense head, with some nice fine lacing.
Little bit of malt, hop and roastiness in the aroma, but mostly blueberry.
Taste is slightly roasty and hoppy with the blueberry predominating, but not overwhelming.
The mix is different, but works pretty well together.
A little thin bodied for an Imperial stout.
Finishes smooth.
Very drinkable beer, interesting.

Shared a case with friends. This beer is good in a surprising way. As in its good, not great, but pleasantly surprising. At first look at the label, I didn't think blueberries could stand up to the dark malts, but Buffalo Bill's nailed a good balance. Blueberries, juicy, upfront that fade into more subtle dark chocolate malts and a hint of smooth oats. Worth a try. Easily the best blueberry beer I've had, and I don't usually like Blueberry beers.

Sounded like an interesting combination so I gave it a try.

Pours a very dark brown with reddish hues and a cocoa head that settles to a cap, leaving sporadic lace.

Strong blueberry aroma hits immediately with a hint of roast lying in the backround.

Lots of fresh blueberry flavor. Hard to describe other than to say it tastes like a stout with a huge dose of blueberry. Some chocolate and oatmeal flavors are present. Different, interesting, and tasty. Gets a bit cloying and finishes dry. Alcohol doesn't show up at all.

Full bodied and luscious. Smooth, creamy, and very rich. Gets a little sticky. Goes down very easy, but I can't see myself having more than 1 or 2 in a sitting due to the cloying sweetness.

I like the fruit stouts. The flavors seem to match up better than lighter beers. This one isn't perfect, but a very nice sipper. I'd pick this up again.

Not much of a thick head on this one. It dissipated pretty quickly when poured into a standard pint glass.

I get a lot of blueberry, roast malt, and I think some hops in the nose. I like the blueberry that comes from it. It smells real, not candied.

I get really fresh blueberries, coffee, a little dark chocolate in the taste. The alcohol is well masked but you get a little heat in the throat. My wife says she tastes plums in it (she didnt know it was a blueberry stout when she tasted it).

Mouthfeel is pretty good. It comes across the tongue smoothly but actually feels more carbonated than a lot of imperial stouts Ive had. I dropped the rating a bit for that and also its quite filling so I lowered the drinkability for that and the alcohol might slow down the drinking of this beer.

I truly enjoy the taste of this beer and for the price, its worth getting again.

I had to admit, I was pretty intrigued when I saw this on the shelf right before the holidays. The Orange Blossom Creme was the only offering from Buffalo Bill's that I've seen (and sampled) before, and I hadn't seen any beer that had fruit and stout together. Even though this isn't perfectly balanced, I am glad that I got to try this out!

This beer pours pretty much like any other stout, but it's not "motor oil" in any sense of the term. It's brown, like one would expect in an oatmeal stout, with a nice head and very little lacing present. The taste is even and balanced, but there's very little blueberry to be felt here. The roasted, caramel aspect dominates from start to finish here, with just a hint of the fruit in the back. It's malty, strong, and goes down smoothly, but I was expecting more bluberry. If it wasn't on the label of the bottle, I would just think that this was a slightly more potent version of a standard oatmeal stout.

The 7.50% ABV is pretty detectable here, but it doesn't detract from the experience at all. This was one of the more interesting beers that I've tried lately, but I was just a bit let down by this. There's a lot of potential here, but everything comes up just a bit short. This is filling, easy-drinking, and not overpowering, but if I had some blueberries with me, I'd squeeze a few a toss 'em in. That's all this beer is missing...

Pours a light and clear brown color with no head, just a few white bubbles here and there. The aroma is very sweet and very blueberry with a subtle malty aroma to balance it. This is echoed in the flavor which is also sweet and the blend of strong blueberry flavor and the supporting maltiness creates the illusion of a blueberry pancakes in liquid form. The body, however, is very light and slightly flat which brings out a little tartness and makes the drink and finish very quick. More body and perhaps a more grain flavored malt and this is a beer you can drink at breakfast with some eggs and bacon.

Poured from a bottle into a glass.

I'm not impressed by gimmicky, fake tasting beers.
This is not one. :)

Pours smooth and easy. Nice creamy head retention. Dark black with a deep cola color coming through the edge of the glass in the light. Blueberry in the nose, like a blueberry muffin. Also a slight hop-like crispness, chocolaty, malty. More sparkly and carbonated on the tongue than I expected, but that oatmeal smoothness is there. A little sticky, even. Some fruity flavors are present, but not as prominent as in the smell. They are fleeting, and a nice grainy flavor picks up from there. Finished malty and bitter while straddling ashy char and fruity ester hints.

Pours tar, opaque black with a dark tan head. Carbonation looks a mixture of big and small bubbles fueling a two-fingered head that had excellent retention and lacing.

Aroma of perfumy blueberry pie. Smells like a dessert.

Flavor changes as you drink the brew. Fresh brewed coffee with some chalky, creamy middle is finished with a lingering blueberry aftertaste.
Thick at first, the carbonation leads this one towards the medium category. Chewy, but not overly so. Drying near the end with the touch of blueberries that only comes in the nose and onthe end. Unique, different, and worth a few.

This oatmeal stout reminds me of my childhood. I spent many a summers eating oatmeal with blueberries. It had a very pleasing aroma of blueberries. The taste was very appealing with hints of blueberries and hops. I enjoyed this beer to the fullest potential.

L: This beer was almost pitch black until shining a light to it then you could see the light come through it pretty good. The head was very solid it was 2 and a 1/2 to a 3 finger head on a somewhat aggressive pour.
S: The smell is almost all blueberries with a little bit of your basic oatmeal stout smells coming through.
T: Blueberries and then more blueberries. This beer is a blueberry oatmeal stout and that's exactly what it tastes like. Blueberry oatmeal is about the best way to describe this beer or maybe blueberry pancakes either way it's a pretty good tasting beer.
F: It was a little thinner than what I like, especially for a stout.
Overall: A pretty good beer not anything that wowed me or something I would go out of my to get but if it was at a bar I wouldn't mind having one of these again.

Just finished the last of our fresh blueberries yesterday...I had oatmeal for breakfast...I love a great stout: I'm qualified for this! Seriously though, this bottle looks a little roughed up, not sure how old it is but I'm giving it a whirl. (Another plea for clear bottle dating, anyone?!?)

No complaints on the appearance, the thin tan head remains on top of the black body a long while. Lace clings with just the slightest tilt.

Blueberry is definitely present in the aroma while the traditional stout characteristics remain strong. Roasted malts give a light coffee and slightly more aggressive dark chocolate tone with the blueberry smell nicely mingled. Smells natural enough, although the label text "with blueberries with natural flavors added" gives me some pause).

Flavor is...interesting. Definitely blueberry, although some sips it tastes more natural than other sips where I kind of wonder. Flavor of grape Bubble Yum is embedded within the watery coffee and dark baking chocolate base. The 7.5% alcohol doesn't really factor in to the flavor. With warming and some patient contemplation the flavor really grabbed me. Sort of like a liquefied version of some weird-ass breakfast cereal.

Feels a bit soda-like due to the grape-y flavor, the sweetness of the blueberries and especially the buoyant, slick mouthfeel. Not even a bad texture, it's round enough, but feels more like a Scotch Ale or something than a stout. But the dazzle of prickly carbonation at the finish is my only real complaint in this department. Doesn't need to be there. A gooey Expedition Stout-style texture would've been amazing here.

I enjoyed this a lot more than their Orange Blossom offering (alco-pop?), and I remember their pumpkin ale not being so hot. The blueberry is just strong enough to give some flair, but not overdone enough to intrude. A unique and laudable beer that is impressive without being mindblowing. Chuck some more malt and blueberry in it and it might just be a killer. Probably wouldn't have another in quite some time, but I look forward to another meeting with it somewhere down the road...

Roomie brought this number home.. given my dislike for their pumpkin beer (although the original and first I believe to be bottled), I am interested in this one.

- Very nice dark black/brown.. minimal light tan fizz, leaves some spotting and a small ring in my cheater pint glass.

- The zesty bright fresh blueberry aroma is very present.. and smells very good. Not much in the roasty grain department though.. blueberry certainly dominates. Little light cocoa and perhaps a tad bit of bitter grassy hop..

- Grainy, chocolate, sweet, subtle oats and grain.. nice zesty fresh blueberry flavor without seeming fake and synthetic... rather good and balanced. Certainly good.

- Medium bodied, slightly creamy... tad bit chalky..

- Overall an interesting, and quite a good beer if you are into blueberries.. which I happen to be. A well made and balanced brew.. a great buy/.

First thing is, this is from a bottle that's over a year old. Interesting. Poured aggresively and got a small to medium fine tan head and some lace. Head quickly settled to a thin cover. Color is an opaque brownish black. Aroma is blueberry traditional stout. Flavor's about the same. Nice thing is, the blueberry doesn't hit you over the head. Actually not too bad, although it wouldn't be one of my favs. Little bit of a weird finish. Don't pick up much of the alcohol.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. No date, but states "brewed and bottled by Pyramid Brewing Co." for BB's.

I popped the cap, letting out a bit more gas pressure than expected, but the beer didn't come frothing out. Nonetheless, upon pouring what eventually would be only about 3 cm of beer in my glass, a creamy thick foam arose that would have poured over the top and down the sides if I hadn't quickly filled my mouth! Another huge head formed with the 2nd and 3rd and 4th pours (yes, just one 12 oz bottle)!! Under the tan head is a nearly opaque but clear dark mahogany liquid.

Aroma of a rich, malty, blueberry ale, with more typical oatmeal stout flavoring in the taste. Blueberry, malt, and hops are very nicely balanced, and all three linger in the finish and aftertaste. Great interplay of flavors, and good use of hops to cut the sweetness. I do wish the moderately high ABV was not so obvious in the aroma.

M - full, smooth and creamy.

Interesting and fun to drink, this bold brew is very drinkable.

A yummy Black-and-Blue for home consumption. Highly rated, yes, but with virtually no deduction for over the top head, or for departure from traditional oatmeal stout characteristics.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter, nice dark brown topped with a beautiful light brown head and nice lacing. The smell is dominated by blueberry. The blueberry taste is strong with good roasted malt and significant carbonation. It went well with cheese and crackers!

Appearance: 1/3 inch head, opaque, dark brown in color, high carbonation

Smell: oats and blueberries—really interesting smell

Taste: chocolate, cream, and oats at first.. blueberry in the middle to the end—light coffee towards the end

Mouthfeel: medium/light body, sweetish start with a bitterness in the middle that becomes slightly more bitter to the end, medium carbonation

Overall: Interesting combination. I love the blueberries as they do not seem artificial as some blueberry taste can. Wish this was a bit less bitter, but I would still get it again. I prefer Dark Horse Tres as a similar beer though.

Unique take on an oatmeal stout. Hadn't seen it the last couple of holiday seasons; had to special order it from the store I work at part-time.

Appearance: dark brown as a stout should, not a very foamy head with a clean pour. Unfiltered bits of sediment present.

Smell: essence of blueberry compliments stronger oatmeal aroma. Have to agree with other review, does smell like Boo Berry cereal.

Taste: mild blueberry taste serves to mellow the stronger bitter hints of oatmeal; blueberry provides a cleaner finish.

Drinkability: while a moderately heavy beer (just by nature, it is a stout), the blueberry provides the cleaner finish than you would expect with an oatmeal stout. Fans of oatmeal stouts will appreciate the different take without an overpowering variation.

S: Blueberries, Malt, and a hint of chocolate... Very nice.

T: Sweet blueberry right up front, then the malt and chocolate comes in.

M: Creamy and smooth.... With a nice sweetness.... a little fruity tangyness on the aftertaste.

12 oz bottles.
A nice dark liquid with a dark tan head.
Aroma strong of blueberries, some chocolate in there too. Smells very sweet.
Tastes pretty good. A lot of blueberry flavor, toasted malt with a char edge. Hint of oats/grains.
Mouthfeel is full bodied and semi-smooth.
Drinkability is very solid given the style of fruit stout and its strength. I would say this would make a good dessert beer, but its also fine to drink on whenever its around.

APPEARANCE
Pours of a very dark brown. Retains very little head.

SMELL
Definitely has a very strong smell of sweet blueberries.

TASTE
It is made of roasted malts with a hint of sweetness. If there is some oats, it is not very prominent.

MOUTHFEEL
It is well-carbonated, but has a creamy feel.

OVERALL
It is an ok beer. It is different from the Seadog Blueberry because this is a stout. It is a very good attempt and is well worth a try.

New to BC this is a better beer than the bottle and the concept appears. Pours like a standard stout but the blueberry notes pick up in the nose and the finish. The beer has a nice fruit note with the blueberry but not overbearing. Not the biggest stout but still reasonably full bodied for the style. Worth trying

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into my nonic pint glass. The stout appears a dark brown color with about two fingers of dense ecru foam. Smell and taste is dominated by blueberries followed by notes of dark roasted grains, cocoa dusted dried blueberries, and milk chocolate. Roasty, bitter and sweet. A notch better than medium in body with ample carbonation for the style. One of the better blueberry flavored beers on the market. Worth a try if you dig blueberries.

Bottle from Belmont Party.

Poured clear ruby color with a medium frothy brown head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Medium berry friut and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet flavor with medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

This soft fruity beer met my expectations.
