Pours a deep amber to black in color with a light tan head. In the aroma, a faint, sugary blueberry is all I get. In the taste, sweet oatmeal, light roastiness, and a hint of blueberry. A smooth and medium bodied mouthfeel, with a semi dry roasty malt and small small blueberry aftertaste. Interesting blueberry, a bit light overall, but OK.

As a local to Buffalo Bill's I get to experience alot of their beer from the tap, but picked up a sixer of this at bevmo and it didn't dissapoint.

Poured a nice dark color, like it should, and left the perfect head...because of my pouring expertise. I love oatmeal stout's so I was excited to see it added with blueberries, and Buffalo Bill's did not let me down. Oh good Lord, it smelled like those blueberry pancakes mama used to make, but not too strong, just enough to taste the berries. The taste was great too..a great balanced stout with just the right flavor of the berry. Went down nice and smooth...all 6 of them

This oatmeal stout reminds me of my childhood. I spent many a summers eating oatmeal with blueberries. It had a very pleasing aroma of blueberries. The taste was very appealing with hints of blueberries and hops. I enjoyed this beer to the fullest potential.

12 oz bottles.
A nice dark liquid with a dark tan head.
Aroma strong of blueberries, some chocolate in there too. Smells very sweet.
Tastes pretty good. A lot of blueberry flavor, toasted malt with a char edge. Hint of oats/grains.
Mouthfeel is full bodied and semi-smooth.
Drinkability is very solid given the style of fruit stout and its strength. I would say this would make a good dessert beer, but its also fine to drink on whenever its around.

Pours an oily black with a (blue-ish?) tan head that disappears pretty quickly. The berries are definitely apparent in the nose. The mouthfeel is solid--heavy body and tangy flavor, you can already sense the blueberries coming. The flavor ain't bad but it's strong! Blueberries on the tongue and blueberries kicking through the finish. Overall I think I like it albeit strange. Decently drinkable but semi filling, and the blueberry-ness is far to strong for my taste to have more than one at once.

Ohh.. a blueberry belch!

Poured a leather couch brown with some seethruness and a thin head that died quickly and didn't leave lace. Blueberry notes abound but that's all I'm smelling - like I am smelling blueberry syrup. A little too sharp blueberry taste and a rather thin body give this beer, which is smooth and contains a good malt base, somewhat of a fruit soda overcarbonation feel. Not a bad beer and the ABV is hidden but this reminded me a little of cherry soda with the crispness a little too much. If they tweak the blueberry tartness they could have a great beer here.

Appearance: Dark brown, black. Tan head that has little retention and is small. Head leaves a bit of foam at the top..layering it.

Aroma: Blueberries jump out on this one.

Taste: Sweetness, blueberries and some malts..but not much else. I don't get any of the characteristics of an oatmeal stout here

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied at the most..somewhat creamy, and goes down fine

Drinkability: Fruity beer so that usually gives this category some points for me..higher ABV though. Also, not very much sticking to the style; I don't mind deviation, but this just seems a big jump. Too much blueberry sweetness, which tastes fine..but could use more. Worth trying, however.

12oz bottle.

Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of blueberries, chocolate, and some roast. Tastes of blueberries, chocolate, light roast, and a touch of caramel. Medium sweet with a light tart finish.

Poured from the 12oz twist off cap bottle into a standard pint glass.

Appearance- Beer pours a dark brown with light shining through pretty well and a half finger of tan head that quickly dies down to a light murk across the top. Lacing is thin and not too substantial.

Smell- I'm getting a lot of blueberry here and not a lot of oatmeal. There are some nice roasty grains in there, but not a lot in the way of oatmeal, or much else for that matter. No real hop presence, and no real yeasty scents in there.

Taste- There is blueberry in the flavor which is a plus, and a hoppy roast in the flavor but the two flavors and a really light body in the mouthfeel really don't compliment the beer too well. There is a light peppery spiciness that is somewhat pleasant, but I wouldn't go out and buy a six pack from this flavor.

Mouthfeel- Light bodied, somewhat spicy, not very warming, I find it very hard to believe that it is really 7.5%. Medium light in carbonation.

Drinkability- Not the greatest.. I'll be finishing this pint, but I'm fairly sure that this one will be my last. Perhaps I'll give it a chance again if I ever find it on tap.

12oz picked up a few weeks ago at New Vintage in Meridian... Don't remember the price, but it was probably about $1.50. Shared with Brenda, mine poured into my Chimay goblet.

1 finger lite tan head.. die back to a descent cap and minimal splotchy lacing.. the brew is dark dark brown but does let some light shine through when held to a lamp.

The aroma is more fruity than anything else... definitely blueberry... no mistake... yet not much in the way of a traditional stout.

Flavor is again very very fruity with only touches of roasty grains.. only enough sweetness to make the blueberry's shine... finish is a little bit of chocolate with a fairly long dry blueberry essence... the body is medium and the carbonation is fine...

There isn't alot wrong with this brew... just nothing too great. I just normally don't appreciate fruit beers and especially traditional beer styles with a bunch of fruit thrown in. Again, not for me but alot of people will probably appreciate it.

A- very dark brown to black with a small khaki colored head that leaves very little if any lacing.

S- lots of blueberry in the nose. faint roasted odors. not much else.

T- the taste is pretty bland. very faint blueberry. not very roasted. very lightly hopped. pretty smooth though.

M- very thin and watery. not what it should be.

D- ill pass on this next time. the smell is about what it should be, but everything else falls short. i picked up the single because dark horse's blueberry stout isnt available yet, and this one didnt satisfy the craving. the alcohol is pretty well hidden or this would have been a complete disaster.

A - A very dark redish brown. A tan head that shrank to a good coating.

S - When the head was first formed, a great deal of blueberry. But after it had shrank a bit, a more subtle dried fruit smell.

T - Slight sweetness but the hops are also there adding bitterness. I really don't detect any really blueberry taste.

M - Smooth and not that heavy.

D - Very drinkable. Doen't really taste that heavy. I could have another one at a bar.

Shared a case with friends. This beer is good in a surprising way. As in its good, not great, but pleasantly surprising. At first look at the label, I didn't think blueberries could stand up to the dark malts, but Buffalo Bill's nailed a good balance. Blueberries, juicy, upfront that fade into more subtle dark chocolate malts and a hint of smooth oats. Worth a try. Easily the best blueberry beer I've had, and I don't usually like Blueberry beers.

P- Market Cross Pub in Carlisle

A- a very deep dull black pour. Looks like a crayon color. hints of dark red highlites. Not much in the head and it dissipates in seconds.

S- a strong presence of blueberry and then the oats round it out. hints of alcohol and some sort of lightly roasted nuts.

T- a roasted coffee malt with hints of blueberry that actually make it drinkable. Not overly flavorful.

M- roasted and creamy. reminds me of chocolate milk but with a splash of blueberry. different.

D- its nice to have but notnice to drink more than 1 or 2 of. This would be a nice beer to have with an apple walnut salad.

After picking this beer up earlier today, I often thought about how the flavors would come together. Other blueberry beers that I have tried before fall flat in the flavor after the aromas prove quite pleasant. However, Buffalo Bill's beers are pretty decent despite the fruit forwardness.

This one begins to emit strong blueberry, perfumy scents as soon as the beer is decanted. Admittedly, looking strange to smell that and see a firm stout appearance simultaneously. Getting my nose closer, the malt profile of roasted grains, soft maltiness, coffee and chocolate begin to round out the aroma.

The beer's dark brown hue gives good clarity with ruby highlights, a reluctant film of retention and mild lacing continues to substantiate the appearance.

Now I'm taken back... The taste is a total shock to the tastebuds! The robust malt character, combined with the immensely tart character of the blueberries hit with such a wave, that took me by surprise. The flavors came all at once with fresh blueberries and a new-beer character without warning, buffering, or in any steady progression. A total assault on the mouth. However, the complex malt characters balance well with the fruits-- neitehr allowing the other to dominate. Although the balance is there, a conflict among the two also commences which hurts the drinkability.

Textures are full, rich, but astringent because of the fruits, but also because of a tannin-driven malt sensation. Like in the flavors, there is a lot of conflict in the mouthfeel as well.

In the end, I appreciate the balance and aggression that this beer displays. But in the end, the conflict of flavors and textures cause the beer to be problematic and hurts the drinkability. The beer, as all Buffalo Bill's beers do, has a raw, homebrewed quality to them that I really do appreciate. Keep up the work, and keep challenging us.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a glass.

A: Your typical black stout. No light passes through...a small light head forms.
S: Little bit of blueberry in the nose, also a chemical like odor, fairly unpleasant.
T: Unfortunately, the taste of this beer reminded me very much of vomit. It had a harsh taste up front, a faint touch of blueberry on the palate, and then had the finish of bad artificial sweetener. Very unpleasant.
M: Somewhat thin in body.
D: I was really looking forward to this stout. It was a complete letdown for me. The taste was awful, and I could barely finish one beer. This was the closest I've ever come to a drain pour.

Pours a deep opaque brown with a fine creamy head that was retained for most of the enjoying.

The bouquet is an odd mix of roasted grains, sweet malts and blueberries. For me, it worked. The taste had at first a sweet acidy-bueberry bite. Subsequent sips yielded an interesting mix of sweet malt and berries.

The body is good for a beer of this style and has excellent mouthfeel. Thisi is a very drinkable beer, good as a session ale.

smells of acidic sweet bitterness, slight berry, roastiness

taste is of bitter sweet astringent blueberry hidden behind roasty malts, thin body, not very balanced in my opinion.. meh

mouthfeel is thin and roasty, easy to drink, had no idea the alc was @ 7.5

Presentation: poured form a 12 oz stubby brown bottle into an Imperial pint glass. Label show cartoon like blueberries and describes this as "oatmeal stout brewed with blueberries with natural flavor added." No apparent freshness date. I received this in a Winter Sampler pack. You know you have a reputation as a beer geek when your mom buys you beer for your birthday.

Appearance: Pours with 3/4 finger of tan head. This settles to a thin coating of foam that doesn't quite cover the entire beer. Some lacing. The beer itself is black and opaque. Some sediment in the bottle.

Smell: Strong blueberry smell upfront. This has undertones of roastiness, but the blueberry smell dominates.

Taste: Very sharp carbonation bite greets the tongue. This is followed by a slightly more mild than the smell blueberry flavor, clear but not overly sweet. Finishes with roasted barley bitterness and hints of chocolate.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation level is well above average, almost to the point of detracting from the beer. Body is good.

Drinkability: I enjoyed the blending of this stout, enough fruit to make its presence known without being cloying and enough roasted barley bitterness to balance the fruit without drowning it out.

A cola brown in color overall with very dark garnet highlights. Nice light beige, two-fingered head that recedes slowly. The aroma has a lot of blueberry fruitiness in the aroma. But still has a noticeable backbone of roasted malt and oats. Taste starts wih some lightly roasted oats, then some soft bread. Then the middle is all blueberry jelly. The finish then combines the roasted malts and sweet blueberries togther. Great, dry oatmeal palate with a splash of juiciness from the blueberries.

Presentation: Short bottle, twist cap. Label is dominated by blueberries, ABV is marked, date code is cryptic.

Appearance: Very dark with just a hint of ruby around the edges, tan colored head with good retention and a nice amount of lacing.

Smell: Almost entirely blueberry - smells like a real blueberry, with just a hint of dark chocolate and coffee.

Taste: Fruit juice, a bit of sweetness. The mouthfeel is a bit thin to back up the berry flavor.

Overall impression: Smells good, but the taste just doesn't back it up. I think its going to be a bit of a challenge getting through this six pack.

Another prize from beating Kevin in fantasy baseball. Thanks man.

Pours black but not quite opaque, slightly reddish at the edges. Nice, creamy tan head on top fills the pint glass and keeps very well, leaving a nice lace and a ton of stick.

Smell has a very nice, authentic blueberry aroma, with notes of chocolate and roasted malt, as well.

Flavor-wise it's slightly acidic and the blueberry flavor is not as nice as the aroma was. Has some roasted malt and a smoky, woodsy bitterness which lingers on the palate. Flavor is ok but it's a little rough around the edges.

Mouthfeel is a decently creamy medium body but it's not as smooth as it could be; suffers from the roughness previously mentioned.

This is decent, but it's not terribly smooth unfortunately. Blueberry aroma is nicer than the flavor. Not bad for a novelty now and again I suppose.

Just finished the last of our fresh blueberries yesterday...I had oatmeal for breakfast...I love a great stout: I'm qualified for this! Seriously though, this bottle looks a little roughed up, not sure how old it is but I'm giving it a whirl. (Another plea for clear bottle dating, anyone?!?)

No complaints on the appearance, the thin tan head remains on top of the black body a long while. Lace clings with just the slightest tilt.

Blueberry is definitely present in the aroma while the traditional stout characteristics remain strong. Roasted malts give a light coffee and slightly more aggressive dark chocolate tone with the blueberry smell nicely mingled. Smells natural enough, although the label text "with blueberries with natural flavors added" gives me some pause).

Flavor is...interesting. Definitely blueberry, although some sips it tastes more natural than other sips where I kind of wonder. Flavor of grape Bubble Yum is embedded within the watery coffee and dark baking chocolate base. The 7.5% alcohol doesn't really factor in to the flavor. With warming and some patient contemplation the flavor really grabbed me. Sort of like a liquefied version of some weird-ass breakfast cereal.

Feels a bit soda-like due to the grape-y flavor, the sweetness of the blueberries and especially the buoyant, slick mouthfeel. Not even a bad texture, it's round enough, but feels more like a Scotch Ale or something than a stout. But the dazzle of prickly carbonation at the finish is my only real complaint in this department. Doesn't need to be there. A gooey Expedition Stout-style texture would've been amazing here.

I enjoyed this a lot more than their Orange Blossom offering (alco-pop?), and I remember their pumpkin ale not being so hot. The blueberry is just strong enough to give some flair, but not overdone enough to intrude. A unique and laudable beer that is impressive without being mindblowing. Chuck some more malt and blueberry in it and it might just be a killer. Probably wouldn't have another in quite some time, but I look forward to another meeting with it somewhere down the road...
