12oz picked up a few weeks ago at New Vintage in Meridian... Don't remember the price, but it was probably about $1.50. Shared with Brenda, mine poured into my Chimay goblet.

1 finger lite tan head.. die back to a descent cap and minimal splotchy lacing.. the brew is dark dark brown but does let some light shine through when held to a lamp.

The aroma is more fruity than anything else... definitely blueberry... no mistake... yet not much in the way of a traditional stout.

Flavor is again very very fruity with only touches of roasty grains.. only enough sweetness to make the blueberry's shine... finish is a little bit of chocolate with a fairly long dry blueberry essence... the body is medium and the carbonation is fine...

There isn't alot wrong with this brew... just nothing too great. I just normally don't appreciate fruit beers and especially traditional beer styles with a bunch of fruit thrown in. Again, not for me but alot of people will probably appreciate it.

Black beer that looks black but doesn't produce much beyond a thin tan head over the top of it. The aroma smacks of roasted malt and a feint berry like notion that isn't super discernable as blueberry.

Taste is nice, not overly sweet, has that bramble quality to it. Some chocolate malt, not overly roasty, smooth enough. Hides alcohol decently.

I thought of it as the best thing Buffalo Bill's has done. The oats give a smooth mouthfeel, the sugar isn't overdone, and the berry quality is just enough.

Appearance: 1/3 inch head, opaque, dark brown in color, high carbonation

Smell: oats and blueberries—really interesting smell

Taste: chocolate, cream, and oats at first.. blueberry in the middle to the end—light coffee towards the end

Mouthfeel: medium/light body, sweetish start with a bitterness in the middle that becomes slightly more bitter to the end, medium carbonation

Overall: Interesting combination. I love the blueberries as they do not seem artificial as some blueberry taste can. Wish this was a bit less bitter, but I would still get it again. I prefer Dark Horse Tres as a similar beer though.

12oz bottle

A- Pours a dark brownish black color with a light tan head.

S- The aroma is more blueberries than stout. In fact, I'm picking up very little roasted malts in the nose like expected from most stouts.

T- The taste thankfully resembles a stout more than the aroma did. It starts out with a pretty smooth roasted malt backbone with a touch of sweet blueberry flavor in the finish. Not bad, definitely something different.

M- The mouthfeel is between light and medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

D- Overall, not outstanding but I would recommend trying this beer solely for its uniqueness. Worth a shot.

A: Poured a dark, inky color with a beautiful foamy dark tan head that lasted for several minutes after the pour leaving a spotchy lacing.

S: fresh blueberries and not much else.

T: started out with lightly roasted coffee grains and blueberries, which seemed odd but actually blended quite well together. The oatmeal is detected providing a nice creaminess. Fruity, clean, and a light clean coffee flavor makes for an intriguing combination.

M: medium bodied with a decent fullness and creaminess to it. There was a nice dry bitterness of the tongue of fresh coffee grinds that became more noticeable after the swallow and upon warming.

D: Actually not bad, a strange and unique combination that works to some extent. Wouldn't drink in multiples but worth a try to see for oneself.

Poured into 10oz glass. Poured a barely translucent black with a deep tan head that dissipated a bit on the quick side and left decent lacing.

The aroma was mostly roasted malt with a definite blueberry scent. The flavors were similar with the blueberry being a little stronger on the tastebuds than it was in the nose.

The body was typical for this type of stout. The drinkability was decent, but will depend on your taste for sweetness of the blueberries.

Overall, a decent beer that's worth a shot if you see it.

Poured a black color with good carbonatio and a tannish head. Nose is whhhholly BLUEBERRY. To much berry, no enough oats. Taste is pretty thin, blueberry heavy, not much oats but a roastiness going on. Mouthfeel is pretty much dominated by roasted malt, hints of oats being smothered by bllueberry. No way will I try this again but someone else might dig it.

Poured into a Chimay goblet. No readable freshness date.

A- Pours a mostly opaque black color with a 1/2 inch of head that quickly dissipates to a paper-thin ring around the edge of the glass and some light surface foam.

S- Plenty of sweet blueberry notes and not a whole lot else.

T- Spicy and slightly tart blueberry that's relatively intense but not so much that it's a sugary overload. Pretty well-balanced compared to other blueberry beers. Could be due to the oatmeal characteristic. Some black pepper notes linger as well.

M- Slick and creamy making it fun to drink. Also kind of light for a stout. Medium-low carbonation.

O- A very enjoyable brew in all aspects. I'm beginning to think there may be something to this Buffalo Bill's.

A - An impressive dark black with very little head that forums a moderate lace

S - Blueberries ahoy! It smells rich and nice maybe slightly artificial but I like it that way.

T - Very good. I can taste some stout components like chocolate that quickly moves to a more fruity berry like taste. Even though kind of novelty it clashes well! Great blueberry taste

M - Seriously 7.5 ABV? I thought it was 5! Light to medium at best

D - Overall whats to expect? You get blueberry full of flavor and smell on top of slight chocolate and bitter tones of a stout. Simple but perfect. If this sticks around I may pick up a whole sixer on the cheap. Good brew!

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint

Pours ink black, opaque, with a big tan head and nice sticky lacing.

Huge blueberry nose. Smells of roasted malts, blueberries, and oats. It's actually quite appealing.

Wow, actually quite impressed. Tastes of an average oatmeal stout with a heavy dose of blueberries. Nice roasted malts and bittering hops. Leaves a nice blueberry oatmeal flavor. Impressive.

Surprisingly dry, medium bodied.

Drinkability is slightly above average.

I couldn't resist picking this up when I saw it on the shelf. I must admit I was skeptical, but it delivered as I hoped it would. Worthy of a try, not the best oatmeal stout out there, but a nice unique take on one.

A cola brown in color overall with very dark garnet highlights. Nice light beige, two-fingered head that recedes slowly. The aroma has a lot of blueberry fruitiness in the aroma. But still has a noticeable backbone of roasted malt and oats. Taste starts wih some lightly roasted oats, then some soft bread. Then the middle is all blueberry jelly. The finish then combines the roasted malts and sweet blueberries togther. Great, dry oatmeal palate with a splash of juiciness from the blueberries.

Well, this one certainly has a blueberry aroma...it's notable immediately upon the pour. It has a grain and mild oat scent as well. I imagined something like oatmeal for breakfast with some bitter chocolate and blueberries mixed in....that's not quit what you get with this beer, but the scents are present...they just don't come together perfectly. The liquid itself is a deep, black-ish brown color with a lasting light-tan head. Ever present carbonation keeps the head replenished and adds some distracting bite to the mouthfeel. Drier than expected, and there's also a solid hop bitterness. This is a better than average stout, and the blueberry isn't as overpowering as the smell forecasted, but its not exceptional by any means.

Murky brown with a light tan, bumpy foam.

Smell is kind of tart, almost spoiled blueberry with stale Melba toast.

Taste is tart, metallic blueberry with chewy, crackery toast.

Thin, powdery dry, yet I'm starting to get unwanted hints of cough syrup. Blech!

Black beer, not much head or lacing.

Great unconventional beer. Was skeptical at first, but then decided that was all the more reason to check it out. Blueberry is present, but not overwhelming. Plays well with the roasted malt, can't really decipher any typical coffee or chocolate notes with the malt, kind of muted by the blueberry I guess.

The hops are noticeable, but nowhere near overwhelming. The alcohol is amazingly hidden, as this is a decently potent stout.

I dunno why the reviews are so "meh" about this beer, maybe its from people who don't like stouts, or only like conventional stouts, or are turned off by the fact that it is contract brewed, corporate hands (the people who hate "corporations" sure seem to be judgmental and close minded, but that's another topic) on it or who knows, maybe they just don't like this stout. I happen to like it very much.
