Pours a deep copper with fine head.
Smell is malty with hints of coffee, leather and some floral hops.
Taste is malty with notes of caramel and ham. Some leather and a nice bitterness finish it off.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a good, easy to drink dark lager.

26 Julio 2016. From XXXII. In Bavaria glass. Playing Grim Fandango Remastered. Highly drinkable. Malty, with some caramel and cardboard notes. Pleasant but nothing special. Avg 3.28
1 Marzo 2020. De Corte Ingles. En copa Teku. En almuerzo, con sopa de fideos + san jacobos. Nariz a caramelo que prometo, pero en boca decepciona. Ni rastro del caramelo y perfil superseco y levaduroso que sin desgradar aburre

Served in a hefeweizen glass, it pours a dark copper, clear, with a beautiful three-finger ecru head, bubbly, sudsy and creamy with excellent retention, which settles as a permanent one-finger head.
Streams of bubbles keep going to the surface, very carbonated.
Nice looking beer.
Not a lot to say in the smell department, I get a creamy aroma as in a dull buttery ice cream, faint malty sweetness, and a bit of herbal and spicy hops but only right after an energetic swirl. Shy bouquet.
The flavor follows the nose, both in flavors and shyness. You have to look for the flavors as they are not assertive. A caramel note appears and the hoppy herbal/spicy flavors gain assertiveness as it warms up. Balanced beer right upfront, but short after the bitterness prevails. Short and bitter tilted finish. Medium to low body, right amount of carbonation, mildly smooth.
Definitely subpar to his big brother Bernard Dark.

The colour is amber-red, the liquid clear. The three finger head is beige and airy. Some lacing occurs.
The smell got notes of biscuits and cream crackers. Floral hops and smooth sweetness. A bit boring.
The taste got passing bitter notes, sweet loaf and toffee. Growing bitterness and descending malt sweetness. Medium body. The aftertaste got notes of butter biscuits, flowers and hay. Toasted bread and clean bitterness in the finish.
The carbonation is strong, the mid-sized bubbles long-lived. The liquid is medium smooth.
An standard Vienna lager. Not bad at all.
