This unpasteurized light lager is a beer with a balanced bitter taste in harmony with its tasty fullness, hop aroma and rich foam.

Ingredients: water, barley malt from the Bernard malt house, prepared Saaz hops, hop extract

Pours a clear amber with fine, soapy head.

Smell is clean and crisp with some crackery malt and floral and citrusy notes with a hint of knäckebröd.

Taste is clean, crisp and floral. Crackery malt and notes of citrus and knäckebröd and hints of metal and butter.

Muthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a nice, true to style Czech pilsner.

Pours a little darker than gold, crystal clear, nice initial head that turns into a nice thin creamy layer that lingers the whole time drinking.

Smell is very refreshing, just like crispy clean beer. Very light earthy aromas, not really sure how else to put it. It smells like fresh air on a beautiful day.

The flavor is mildly sweet and pleasantly hoppy, earthy and some subtle spice. I also keep thinking of some sort of fresh baked bread.

Mouthfeel is perfect light body with a tad of bitter on the finish. It drinks so creamy and smooth and it finishes so so clean.

Bought at the Supermarket in Olomouc. 0,5 l bottle poured to a Pilsener Glass.
-Inside the frame of Pilsener look, more ambered-dark, though still transparent. Small White foam head (1 mm). Leaves big traces. Looks Good.
-Hoppy smell: cellar/cereal smell. Potent smell.
-Full body: bitter and sweet at the same time.
-Leaves bitter feel in the mouth and tongue though a lite bit after a while.

I like it a lot. I recommend it. It is not the most famous one but very Good indeed.

I really like how this beer smells, Saaz hops all over. Tastes very Czech as well - but suddenly there is quite some distinct weediness/grassiness to it. Like raw, ground hops there, raw... or cut grass out in the sun.
But this rawness disappears after some time (or you get used to it) and it will be your typical, nice Czech lezák.
The good thing about it is that it’s quite well balanced, with just enough hops, malts and bitterness. If it wasn’t for that weediness, it would be almost perfect. Like this, it’s “just” alright.

Wow, really wish I saw the date before buying this, best before 01/10/18
Pours a decent but smaller fizzy head with low retention, little lacing, hazy sediment laden slight amber color

Nose really nice malt profile, grainy sweet pilsner malt, little straw like and touch corn, smells quite sweet malty aroma, and some fruity notes, faint floral hops

Taste lots of cereal grains, almost doughy bready and fair sweetness, a bit sweeter than I expected, bitter hops kick in, medium bitterness at first then getting to a higher spicy bitter hop late, floral slight spicy hops out front, rich malts and mild fruity esters, medium dry finish getting a little astringent and quite bitter, not as clean as typical pilsner

Mouth is med to lighter bod, medium to lighter carb, sightly astringent

Overall not bad, not sure why the rating is so low, it's like a Czech pilsner in hops and finish, more like Helles in malt character, enjoyable on that end, but a bit too sweet overall and gets a little astringent

330 mL bottle. Pours golden and clear. Smells of grassy hops and some pilsner malt. Kinda sweet without much grain aroma to back it up. Tastes grassy with a slight honey sweetness. Bitter grassiness and a drop off in malt flavor leaves a mineral back end. Light. Kinda bland.

This has recently started showing up in local stores and I am assuming it means this ancient Moravian brewer has been bought out by one of the international monster distributors. The only previous time I had seen this lager (and the dark) was in a grubby but delightful pub with cafeteria seating in Olomouc, CZ many years ago, even before I joined BA.

Terrific yeasty, malty nose on top of dark golden body. Flavor is yeasty with tons of residual proteins among heavy sourdough bread and moderate grassy and herbal tinged hops. Creamy in texture and very easy to drink. Probably not terribly fresh but still tasty and different.
