Lebanon is a nice little old town, and The Village Wine is pretty much the only source for good beer here around.

They have no taps but their bottle selection is quite extensive, divided in styles (lager/wheat/IPA/amber/stout/cider). They are always getting new stuff in, and of course you can go on the back of the bar, where the retail section is, and pick up a beer either to take home or drink at the bar (with a corkage fee).

On the shelves you'll find a couple of coolers with brews plus some room-temp bombers from Bell's, New Holland (Dragon's Milk), Founders, Southern Tier (Creme Brulee), Green Flash (Sculpin), St Ambroise McAuslan 2009, MadTree Psychopathy and more.

The food is limited but they do have a daily soup and some cheeses and sandwiches to go around. I love the service- they'll make you feel like a local from day one. Nice folks.

The Village Wine Cellar , located in downtown Lebanon Ohio , is much more than just a wine cellar. They serve good lunch fair items and specialize in craft beer. You can get beer for carry out or drink right at the bar. There is no draft beer. The staff is friendly , knowledgeable , and if there is something you want that they don't have , they will order it for you. They serve the beer at the correct temperature and in the proper glass , which I find very refreshing in a town full of chain beer bars like BW3's and Buffalo Wings and Rings. They have beer tastings as well as food and beer tastings/pairings. For anybody in this area who thinks you have to travel far for great beers ( like I use to ) , think again. Give these guys a try and you'll be glad you did!

*** UPDATE ***

This is an update to my review from 2009. The Cellar has been purchased by longtime bar manager Nick, and many changes are in progress. They now offer more seating in the form of couches and comfy chairs. Also, they now offer pizza as well as sandwiches. Firkins are becoming a regular item as well. There will also be draft beer added in the very near future. I am blown away by the craft beer selection of this place. It is incredible! It has become a very high end bottle shop and all of the beers can be consumed on the premises. The prices remain very reasonable. The staff is both friendly and knowledgeable regarding beer and wine. They always have some hidden gems that are not listed on the extensive beer menu. This establishment has become a true craft beer bar. It is by far the best in Warren county and the best I've been to in Cincinnati.

The Village Wine Cellar is located in historic downtown Lebanon, a block from the Golden Lamb. It occupies a refurbished store front. The interior is decorated with aged wood and exposed brick and has a very comfortable feel. There are couches and comfortable chairs in addition to the bar. It's a very popular hangout for the weekend antique shoppers as well the local Masonic lodge. The owners, staff, and bartenders are extremely friendly and do a good job making the patrons feel welcome.

They don't have draft beer but the bottled selections are top shelf. The beer menu is divided into styles with a brief description of each. There are always a few new gems that haven't yet made it onto the menu. The bartenders do a great job of recommending new beers to try. All the beers I've had have been very fresh.

They offer excellent deli-style sandwiches during the day. The portions are generous and very reasonably priced.

The Cellar is divided in two. One side is the bar/restaurant. The opposite side contains shelves of beer and wine that can be purchased for carryout or enjoyed on premesis. The beers are all craft and most are rather hard to find in this area. I come here for the more obscure and small batch releases. I'm told that the wine selection is very good as well.

This is a friendly place for drinks and conversation. All beer lovers would do well to check this place out.
