My wife and I spent a weekend in Kenosha and wanted to grab some craft beer. She asked her cousin, who is a local, and he said that Tenuta's is literally the only decent place to grab a good brew.

So there we went! Let me tell you, I was impressed. This is a huge Italian deli/supermarket... their meats and cheeses are all amazing, and fairly priced. They also have a big wine section.

Their beer aisle is nothing to scoff at. They must have the biggest selection oif Wisconsin brews ever! Not only Sprecher, New Glarus and the classics but also Lakefront, Buffalo Water, Horny Goat, Tyranena and some other lesser-known breweries. Plus Capital Brewery, Gray Brewing, Stevens Point, Ale Asylum, Potosi, Minhas Brewing... when in Rome... drink local, right? :-)

I also spotted four- and six-packs and bombers of Stone, Dogfish, New Holland, Dark Horse, Sierra, Anchor, Bear Republic, New Belgium, Left Hand, Mendocino, Rogue, Lagunitas, Oskar Blues... Dogfish 90 and Dogfish Palo Santo were available. Nice! Also some Belgian imports. Oh, and Three Floyds!!

Best beer selection in miles and miles around!

Prices were fair, and service was nice overall (smiling faces). On my first visit there I got no beer help, but on the second trip an employee was ready to help me pick some beers.

Overall, if you live in Kenosha or vacation there and love beer, you ought to check it out. This really is the only place to get craft brews in the area. I'll go back!

2014: Much improved selection, new shelves in front with lots of seasonals and one-offs. Finally met the beer guy Kyle, who helped us out greatly.

2011: Selection has improved some, there's a rack full of seasonals up front before you hit the beer cooler aisle. Noticed a few things like AK Smoked Porter, Lagunitas Sucks, Schells Burton Ale, N√łgne, and a few other things. Oddly hidden behind the register there were dusty bottles of Samichlaus and Chiostro. The place is always a zoo, but it's a fun zoo.

12/2009: Saturday afternoon they were doing a Sprecher beer tasting in the beer aisle. Noticed some new seasonals like Eisphyre and Steamworks Diablo.

I see Tenuta's was added to beerfly...i've been here a dozen times and never really considered it the best stop for beer in Kenosha. That said, it's an institution of Italian food & culture for sure, with an ok beer selection.

The main thing they have beer-wise is decent local stuff, New Glarus, Tyranena (no BGW), Central Waters (basic lineup). It's about 50/50 craft/macro, but what they have is decent. Some good imports like St. Bernardus and Paulaner, nothing too obscure, mostly just the staples. Usually a couple mini-kegs in the cooler, be sure to check dates. Beer is along the wall past the registers to the left. If you venture into the grocery area, things get a little maze-like, but it's kinda fun. Be sure to check out the deli counter and their homemade panini, muffaletta, and hot meatball sub sandwiches (hence the high food rating).

Don't just expect to buy beer here, there are also a ton of homemade grocery items like italian sauces, hot pepper spread, all manner of exotic Italian foods. Be sure to check dates on stuff though, they are known for not always rotating stock. High school kids mostly tend to work here, so don't expect much help.

Tenuta's is an italian deli (that sells gourmet food from a lot of countries) that also happens to have a good selection of beer and alcohol. They have a large selection of imports and a decent sized selection of micro crafts (FFF, Stone, DFH). The macro selection is pretty much dedicated to PBR, Hamms, Old Style, the old guard WI macros. But I noticed a lot of beers here that I haven't seen in any of the other surrounding stores. These include several exotic African and Asian brands I was puzzled to see. It also had a few rarer Czech beers. The import selection ranges from a good supply of Belgians (though they are scattered everywhere), and a little bit of everything from a host of countries far and wide. For the craft i remember most of the WI brews being there along with some of the bigger micros like Dogfish Head. Watch the dates.

The prices here seemed very reasonable as I was able to get Baltika 7 for 50 cents a bottle and Chimay red for 10.50 and a free glass. Also a case of Castello for only 9.99/

Overall this wouldn't be my first stomping ground but if you in the mood for something exotic from a far off place this will deliver. Its good to go here and pick up some ingredients for dinner while also getting a good selection of beer.

What an amazing place. Can't believe I've never stopped in here. The place is 50% Italian market 50% alcohol. My wife and I were simply amazed at the amount of shelves that contained booze. An entire isle from one of the store to the other filled from top to bottom with beer. All the newest seasonal were on the shelves. Every brewery from Wisconsin was well represented along with tons of American craft and a solid import section.

The food from this place is top notch. I've had many dishes prepared with their authentic ingredients.

Service was non existent but I wasn't looking for any. Prices were reasonable. Not really my neck of the woods but if I'm in the area I will be stopping in.

how these guys get so much beer into such a small space is hard to believe but there is literally tons of beer. The guys at the store were very knowledgeable and had some beers set aside for me since I was coming from out of town. Cleaned off one of the shelves and they even had more beer Somewhere else to restock which I which is hard to believe. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stock up on Wisconsin beers. Btw. Great selection of new glarus products

A Kenosha tradition for sixty-five years. This famous Italian Grocery and Delicatessen has a large selection of craft brews from Wisconsin and beyond. The service is friendly and helpful. Their selection of meats and cheeses is excellent. Highly recommended for the beer and the food.

As a beer store, THE BEST! From New Glarus, Black Husky, Valkyrie, 3 Sheeps, to Surly, Founders and more they have it all.

As an Italian Marcato, better than any in Chicago!
