I used to really like this place because they got everything and the prices were reasonable. Since blowing up over the past couple years the mark ups have got really ugly on the more coveted beers. Despite that, the selection is one of the best in San Diego particularly if you want something cold I have yet to see a wall fridge like theirs.

Aside from prices the only other real negative is the location. At least it isn't in the gaslamp because I would never shill out $5-20 just to park and find beer there. If it's after 5pm any day of the week you're going to have a tough time finding parking. I suggest giving it a go if you're in town particularly if you want to find belgians you can't find most other places. Service is so-so. If there is a guy in the beer aisle working there you'll get some good help and I've never had to wait long to check out.

I stopped by the Best Damn beer shop in hopes of finding some good San Diego/California beers. Their selection was quite good however I would have expected more beers from San Diego or California. They had a massive amount of Belgium beers which was awesome to see but another rack dedicated to only local brews would have been appreciated. I found some good stuff so can't complain too much. If you're nearby its worth a visit.

Every liquor store in southern California failed me, and then I found this place. Will be swinging by here so much more, great beer selection, mind blowing service.

Found their website and decided to take a look. Super awesome experience. Bought 12 bombers and had them shipped to MI at a great price. Sid at the store was awesome. He very knowledgeable and also hooked me up with a super hard to find beer. Will be buying more beers from them. Great experience and recommend. Either in store or online.

Can't say much about the vibe, since I've never been in the shop myself since I live over on the other coast. What I can say however about this shop, is that the owner, Sid is simply the most affable beer geek I've ever came across anywhere. He always packs his beers like a pro and of those times when I purchased a beer that just sold out, he'd make sure I was covered with something else. I can't say enough how much I love this place, but simply I just keep coming back for more!

No doubt, this is THE beer shop to go to in SD! You won't regret it. Say hey to Sid if you get the chance to bump into him. Thanks for all the beers!

This is a great spot that can't be more than a 5-10 minute walk from any hotel downtown and is definitely worth the walk. The beer selection here is excellent, with multiple shelves and fridges full of beer, including some harder to find local and west coast brews and a decent selection of Belgian beer as well. Will make sure to stop here on any future trips to SD.

Just placed my first order with them. One of the beers was not included, so naturally I panicked and thought I was getting ripped off. Not the case. I sent an email before I pulled the packing slip out. The beer had not only, already, been refunded, but they threw in a beer in it's place. First rate organization that I will gladly buy from in the future.

Visited this on a recent layover in San Diego and thought it was a superb bottle shop. Great selection, both in terms of singles and packs, with some really excellent finds tucked away if you take the time to search through everything. Fairly pricey but not outrageous. I do have to dock a few points for not having prices on many of items, requiring the customer to bring them to the front to request a price check. The staff was accommodating while giving you your space, and even helped me wrap my haul in bubble wrap when I mentioned I would be traveling with it.

Not in a great neighborhood, but convenient to downtown. Huge beer selection, but you will have to search around because the shelves are a bit disorganized. Was happy to find a BA Stone IRS hidden at the back of a shelf.

Ordered my first online beer from them. World class in all aspects. Shipping to SC for 12 bottles was only $27 and they used a wine Styrofoam shipper.

This was the last of 4 bottle shops I hit while in San Diego. I was it was the first, it would have saved me some driving. It's just a couple of blocks from Petco Park and the Gaslamp district so parking is a hot mess. It also seemed slightly sketchy outside at night. Once you are inside, while there is wine and natural foods, they have an obnoxious amount of beer and definitely have more selections than Bine & Vine or either Bottlecraft location. As their inventory is basically on the website, I had scoped out what I had wanted. Unfortunately, at night some of the truly rare beers are "locked in the cellar by the owner" I was told. I was really hoping for the Firestone Walker Velvet Merkin and Clown Shoes Pierre Ferrand Billionaire. I still had some decent finds including Knee Deep Lupulin River, Clown Shoes Rexx, Midnight Sun Treat, and Elysian Punkuccino. I can assure you I will hit here next time in San Diego and it might be my only stop, but it will be during the day! I will also be quick to purchase from them online. Had a good experience with that, too.

My local bottle shop. They have a very large and diverse selection of craft and artisanal beer from all over the world. A extensive selection of Belgians, imperial stouts, barleywines, in addition to a great offering of local beers. You really can't beat the price point either. Going around to other bottle shops in San Diego, you could see the same bottle for at least a couple bucks more.
