This was a really nice APA. Went down smooth with just the right amount of bitter after taste. Had a nice hoppy and citrus flavor, but not too overpowering where it would kill your taste buds. Had a nice lace pattern to it and a nice golden orange color. The smell was a nice blend of hops and citrus. Overall, just a great beer.

Wow was this a fun surprise in a beer trade. This beer had amazing carbonation. Beautiful yellow orange color to it. Strong citrus smell up front and a great malty backbone. Extremely well balanced. Neither too much hops or malt. So much flavor. Very smooth and great feel to the beer. Easy to drink and well done. Look forward to more Sun king. Great pale ale that is easy to drink.

Eye: Golden hued in color, standard. Even with a vigorous pour the head didn't stick around that long on this one, could be the glass though. Clear, but not crystal clear. The head that it holds is more of a thin blanket of foam. Carbonation appears to be low and this beer doesn't look all that lively.

Nose: Floral and citrus hop forward. Smells like a classic APA should. Lightly toasted malt in the background adds some backbone to this beer.

Tongue: Right up front the flavor is of hops and a little bit of hop bitterness. Malt supports all this. As one begins to swallow this beverage bittering hops come out quite a bit more and the medium body and "heaviness" of the malt is scrubbed away by carbonation. Carbonation doesn't get in the way of the flavor or body of this beer. Upfront it seems low, but once it starts to go down the throat it livens up on the middle of the tongue cleaning the palate. Flavor profile finishes with very nice citrus-grapefruit-lime hop character. Body is medium, perhaps a bit heavier that I would have liked, but it works well.

Drinkability: This is a beed I'd not hesitate to drink again. Definitely a nice change of pace from what is available to me in the Cincinnati area.
