I live in Central Indiana, and get this beer from time to time. Beer has a great feel, malty, not overcarbonated, and for a dark beer feels light overall. Finish is clean, and not dry. Taste is almost light bread at first, then hops, grass, and is bitter but in a smooth way.

This is a common beer in this area, and quite refreshing, and can be found on tap in many local places here. I keep thinking that this is a light feeling beer, especially for being such a dark beer.

Wee Mac is basically a local beer to me. Indy is about 100 miles away so I get it fresh. I lean towards malty, mildly sweet beer and Wee Mac hits that spot for me. Tried it the first time on tap and was hooked from then on. Wish it was easier to get for me...living in a rural area....but I can get it after a 30 minute drive and I think it's worth the drive. My opinion is that it's better than 3 Floyd's ( a 40 minute drive to the brewery from my house) Robert the Bruce ......also a Scottish style dark brew.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, light bread. Taste is malts, some caramel a bit of sweetness, fairly mild. Feels light bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer, a bit lacking in flavor and punch.

Smallish head and little lace. Cloudy light brown color.

Smells weak but with all the right aromas. Some chocolate, some vanilla.

Thin bodied with an elevated carbonation level. Brown sugar base flavor. Light hop bitterness but not enough to balance which is typical for the style. Overall, not very impressive.

This is my favorite standby beer in the Indy area. When in a pub where all the proprietor has are pale ales, I reach for this one. I believe that, as the other reviewers here have stated, its even and average taste and lack of extreme attributes just adds to its appeal. Sun King has done a great job of being consistent with this recipe.

I have sampled this beer many times: from good and bad bar taps, from growlers filled at the brewery, and from the can. When drinking from the can, it's best to first pour into a glass to let the beer breathe a little and to get a good feel for the nice, lightly malty aroma and body of the beer. It has a good brown color with a modest head when poured well. The head does not linger, however. It is a bit light. But if I want a heavier beer, I'll order a stout or a porter. It goes well with a large variety of foods -- also adding to its lack of overpowering attributes.
