Got a single can from behind the counter at my local beer store. Pretty stoked when I got it since they didn't get many. Drank it as fresh as possible the day after I purchased
Appearance: One of the best things about this beer–crystal clear copper with a finger of off-white head. Dark for an IPA, but beautiful.
Aroma: This is where I was disappointed. I am used to getting smacked in the face by hops when sniffing these rare IPAs. Not so here. Subtle fruit and citrus aromas with a bit of musty grain. Not terrible, but not what I was expecting from a $4/can rare seasonal IPA called Grapefruit Jungle.
Taste: Once again, not bag, but a bit underwhelming. I found this to be very balanced instead of super hop forward. Fruity and citrusy flavors balanced nicely by malt and a gentle bitterness at the end that sticks around.
Mouthfeel: Medium mouthfeel. Good carbonation level. Wish it was a bit more dry.
Overall: Like I said, not bad, but not what I was expecting for all the hype. I am coming to the conclusion that the majority of hard-to-find seasonal releases are genius marketing, not necessarily genius brewing. I would probably go to this beer quite a bit if it was $9.00 a six-pack and was easy to find. Probably won't be going out of my way for it in the future.

I tried a tall boy can of this beer at Elm Street Brewing in Muncie, Indiana. It poured a slightly hazy copper with white head that left some lace. The scent had bold grapefruit and citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with grapefruit and citrus peel flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was an solid beer.

Hmmm…Sun King finally made an IPA that is pretty good. Not great or excellent mind you, but totally drinkable. I never thought I would see the day.

Grapefruit Jungle (GFJ) pours a bronze color, with a small lacing head. Aroma is grainy, earthy. Flavor is filled with a dry, pine hoppy flavor, and grapefruit notes, a hint of peach. Good body and feel.

A very fruit forward ipa. The citrus flavors hit your palate right away.

16 oz. can dated 10/9/20
Lightly hazed amber. One finger fine beige head. Full cap and lacing.
Strong grapefruit aroma.
Grapefruit, pine, light apricot, pineapple flavors.
Medium bodied, dry finish, lingering hop bitterness.
Really pushes the grapefruit hop button. Good IPA.

Hey all.
16 oz can, dated best by 12/8/20, into Boulevard Smokestack snifter.
Holy toledo this beer is dark for an IPA! It's straight brown caramel color, with a tall creamy head of 2 fingers that recedes slowly and leaves gloppy lace up the sides of the glass.
Aroma is really fresh and fruity. Lots of grapefruit and guava! Super citric, tons of orange/lemon/more grapefruit. Perhaps a touch of passionfruit? Maybe? Nice. Behind that is a really wonderful hit of caramel malt that balances this thing out.
Flavor - WOW. Tons of fresh pithy grapefruit and the most awesome crisp caramel malt in an IPA I think I've ever tasted. Resins really build on the palate. It's just a flavor bomb. And a fresh one. Damn.
Feel is crisp and acidic with lots of resins that build but they only flirt with being too invasive/sticky. Nearly no detectable alcohol and has a resiny finish.
Overall, best IPA I've had in probably 6 months. This is why I go on beer trips. An absolutely exquisite beer. Highly recommended.
Price paid : $12.99 / 4 pack
Would buy again : With pleasure.

Look - Beautiful clear amber pour, soft 2 finger foam head with good retention.
Smell - fruity as advertised
Taste - fruity paired with the Rye. Linger is perfect, and really feels like an outstanding classic example of the style.
Feel- Again feels perfect to me. There's a bit of a bite that hangs around from the bitterness, pale malt, rye combo; but I think its appropriate.
This is an awesome classic American IPA!

16 ounce can into pint glass, best before 9/30/2020. Pours fairly hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy cream colored head with awesome retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, spicy rye, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, spicy rye, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready/rye malts; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering resins. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.7%, or lingering hop burn after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic classic tasting Midwest style IPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready/rye malts; very smooth and easy to drink with th modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Fantastic Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial profile. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice sized bready rye malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on Midwest style IPA. Loved this one a lot! Very similar to Jai Alai.
