Pink Taco was sampled on 1/26/2013 at the Indiana Winterfest 2013. Sun King's description is a "sour version of Sunlight Cream ale infused with raspberries, cranberries and hibiscus." I admit I am not much of a fan of Sunlight, but I love Pink Taco.
Given to me in a sampler glass at the brewfest, the beer was pink like Cherry 7up. It was quite bubbly with a white head with a pink tint to it. The head disappeared rather quickly. The aroma was a reflection of the sour fruits in the beer, with cranberry being the most prominent. The initial taste was cranberry, seedy raspberry, and vanilla. The woodiness of the vanilla reminded me of a Flanders Red Ale. The sour fruits gave the impression of a sour. The base beer was hard to detect. In the aftertaste, the vanilla becomes a little more noticeable, but it has mellowed in intensity. The sour still tickled the sides of the tongue in the aftertaste. One might think the carbonation would brush much of the sour away, yet that did not happen. I really enjoyed this one.
