Draft at taproom. Medium gold, hazy pour , small foamy head. Malty and hoppy aroma, kind of light. Taste adds a bit of citrus, pineapple. Still on the light side of the scale.

Poured from a 12 ounce can dated 6-6-23 into a tulip glass.

Look- Medium gold, plentiful large particulate, moderately hazy, frothy white head, above average lacing, average head retention.

Smell- Grapefruit, pine, lemongrass, weak strength of scent.

Taste- Dominant grapefruit, lemongrass, pine, between weak and medium strength of flavor.

Feel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, highly creamy, highly bitter, moderately dry finish, mildly astringent.

Overall- Appearance was medium gold with mild haze and enough visible large particulate to make me think I was looking at a snow globe. Bouquet was grapefruit, pine and lemongrass, but weak in strength. The flavor was dominated by grapefruit and was on the weaker end of the scale of flavor strength. Feel was between medium and full body with a high bitterness, but the mild astringency was a detractor. Overall this beer provided a below average drinking experience. Flavor and nose were not strong or complex enough and the astringency was undesirable.

L: Gold semi-filtered with a finger of ivory head, little to no retention or lacing.

S: Heavy malt, citrus and pine. Subtle.

T: Follows the nose. Grapefruit.

F: Light to moderate weight and carbonation.

O: Fine execution on a pretty standard IPA.

Source: Cans purchased at the brew pub in White Salmon (production date less than 2 weeks). This is a refreshing drinkable IPA with medium alcohol content (6.2%) and delicious grapefruit notes. My wife typically dislikes the bitterness of IPA's but (remarkably) judged Country Boy to be very likable. While it is not a session beer, it is more moderate on the bitterness scale but still retains potent citrus notes typical of a good west coast IPA.

To make a long story short, I inadvertently sat on this for 5 months. When I found it in my beer fridge, I felt like Scoobie Doo: "Ruh Rog, Raggie."

But fear not, your intrepid beer nerd will soldier on, and he is rewarded, because this is not bad. There's no sign of age in the pour, with a mostly clear golden colored beer propping up a light tan head.

The aromas are a bit muted, which is a clear sign of the beer's age, IMHO. There are some light citrus hop aromas, but the malt is really forward. Diacetyl maybe?

Nope, just a healthy malt backbone that is predominant because I'm an idiot and sat on this so long that the hops faded - but they are still present with some citrus flavors and a tangy berry flavor.

This morphed from an IPA to a sorta hoppy amber. I just wish I had tried this fresher, because I think it would've been a really nice IPA.

Purchased at the brewery earlier this week. No date code, but we'll assume it's fresh. Pretty pour, hazy for the style and a nice tight head that is slow to dissipate. A light aroma of hops, not much else. The taste is hoppy but a little muddled in our view. Mouthfeel is flat with a slightly soapy aftertaste. In the Portland-Seattle corridor, quality IPAs are putting the bar vert high for these smaller brewers.

I bought a six-pack (cans) in a bottle shop. Poured in to a pint glass.

Pours a yellow/gold color, chill have with a one-finger white head.

Smell has some light citrus fruit aromas.

Taste is balanced, a malt presence up front, with a fruity grape fruit and lemon flavor on the finish.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly cloying.

Overall an average IPA. There are better, but this one is good.

A thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer.Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is strong of oranges. Taste is also heavy on the oranges, very little malts, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.
