From a crowler filled at the UBG 07/31/16
Well, the hazy craze is certainly in full effect here. Pale orange almost with a yellow tint, and opaque as can be. Like a hazy mimosa colour. Massive white downy head and incredible lacing.
Nose is juicy citrus fruits. Tangerine and orange pulp jump out at me. Maybe some floral sweetness as well. Hints of peach on the edges of the zone?
Flavour offers a nice balance of juicy nectarine sweetness and an unrelenting bitter finish. Much more balanced than other 'hazy' offerings I've had of late, which appeals more to me personally. The first wave is that soft sweet approach that is often associated with beers of this appearance bringing forth sweet citrus and stone fruits with a fragrantly nectar-esque quality. Soon after, however warm embrace turns a raspy pith-inspired bitter that carries forth for the remainder and lingers and lingers and lingers...
ADDENDUM: letting the crowler sit at room temerature the next pour was much softer with that finish. By the end of it all, it's still got a solid bitter punch, but it is more subtle and kind of creeps up instead of stepping forth right away. The good get better!!
Drinks incredibly smoothe and easy with a medium sturdy body and incredibly fine carbonation.
