I am a fan of Fremont's beer. This one is ok, but probably not something I would go back to other than to validate my initial impressions.

Picked up a bomber at my local grocery that was reasonably fresh.
Pours a pleasant, light golden amber, with a decent head.
The aroma is really the best part of this beer. Terrific, fresh, fruity/floral blast of hops that raised my expectations as that is usually something I like.
The taste was a bit of a let down. It was full of the hops I smelled, but little else. I was hoping for a little malt balance, but it was all hops for me. Not overly bitter, just nothing to balance out the floral hop taste.
Mouth feel was nice, with a nice bit of prickly carbonation.
I'll try this one again at some point just to confirm my initial impressions. But for now, I very much favor their other offerings.

12 oz can

No date, purchased almost two months ago.

What I feel like was a pretty standard pour – yields only a quarter finger of head into my can-style glass. Dissipates quickly. The body is a somewhat hazy yellow, with a decent amount of carbonation. Pretty light looking for a pale. So far it looks ok.

Aroma is nice, hop forward, a boat load of lemon, piney. Relatively clean considering the hop presence. Very simple, but pretty nice.

Flavor is very interesting. Not quite as cut throat in the hops as the aroma. Medium bitterness hits for the majority of the flavor, but not a huge hop taste. Finishes with a sweet melon esque flavor, really dances on my tongue. A little of that lemon comes in the aftertaste. Very light malt sweetness, super simple, very clean overall. I doubt this is the case, but it tastes like a single hop, single malt. We’ll see if this changes as it warms, but so far this is a very nice and clean pale. Very tasty and refreshing too.

The mouthfeel really helps this beer out a lot. It has a really lively carbonation, and a really light body. I don’t find myself liking those qualities too often, but this is a great example of a crushable beer, and the mouthfeel helps that quality for sure.

As already mentioned, the drinkability is super high, I could drink a lot of these.

The appearance turned out ok, lacing was average. Nothing stellar here, but it was ok overall.

As for the beer, overall this was a really nice beer. Refreshing, tasty, clean, simple. Nothing wrong with a beer that does what it’s trying to do, I enjoyed it a lot.

A lovely, easy-drinking, everyday pale, and the flagship from my favorite brewery. It is evident a lot of care and refinement went into this one, as virtually all the impurities have been swept away. The result is just a classic, near-perfectly balanced APA, with a NW emphasis--the resinous pine notes holding court in the hop profile. By my lights, it's an underrated brew in Fremont's magnificent oeuvre.

Bottle from Winco. Not too happy for an APA, lager comes to mind. Grain forward, hazy medium golden body, soft foamy head. Gentle hops on the aroma, malt bill takes over for taste. Medium weight, chewy body. Tasty, drinkable, and not hoppy at all.
