22 oz. Bomber
Green Wax/Capped
Limited 2021 Release

Poured into a Westy 12 glass a pretty nice translucent dark brown color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice quick/small/fizzy tan head, which leaves a nice medium size island, and some minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is very nice, malty, hoppy, with a very nice dark fruit complex (cherries, figs, raisins, plums, dates, grapes), vanilla, oak, bourbon, licorice. The taste is very nice, malty, hoppy, with a very nice dark fruit complex (cherries, figs, raisins, plums, dates, grapes), very nice vanilla sweetness, very nice bourbon note, oaky, licorice, a very nice sipper. Full Body, ABV hidden very nicely, a very complex brew. Overall, this is a big beer, very tasty. Glad to see it around here, again.

I made an offhand post about missing this on Tavour and JohnGalt1, my regular trade partner back in the day, messages me offering to help. This was my first trade in probably 10 years!

Unsurprisingly, this is a sublime treat. Quite sweet with abundant toffee and caramel with hints of raisin, brown sugar, oak, and vanilla. Layers of mellow brown liquor envelop everything. This is a joy to drink. In a crowded market, Fremont's barrel program really stands out. Thanks Toby!

Pitch brown body with a tan collar. Bourbon backed caramel, molasses, vanilla, oak, barley, toffee, raisin, plum, and soggy dark bread all meet in an expressive and pleasant nose. Taste follows suit, but the first two thirds of the taste are sweet and gooey with all the sweet and fruit flavors, before the oak, bourbon booze, and barley round out for the remaining third of the sip. Background flavors not in the nose but in the taste include: brown sugar, cherry skin, and a kiss of coconut. Exquisite! Feel is malty, gooey, soft, warm, and velvet smooth for most of the sip before the oak, barley and booze kick in as a gentle change of pace, could have a touch more variance there but nitpicking. A fantastic barleywine. The wife liked it

a wonderful beer on the edge of absurdity, super cool to get to try this on tap. its deep brown to an almost stout looking color in low light, but redder when its brighter, just a short head on it. my fingers stick to the edges of the glass where the pour ran over the sides, and this is dense and sugary as they come, but also regal and mature and barrel forward, as complex and decadent as any barleywine out there. the aroma is a ton of good bourbon, vanilla and oak, pure molasses too, lots of dark grain, deeper in toast and caramelization than in a lot of these, maybe a longer boil, this seems intentionally concentrated in a serious way, suggestions of chestnuts, maple syrup, and dark leather are also present. the flavor really packs it all in, prune and raisin fruitiness, raw dark brown sugar, expensive whiskey, an old reading chair, brandy, dark bread, toffee, licorice root, light anise and even coffee to it as well. a ton of alcohol, body, and residual sugar slow it way down, but i dont really mind, there is so much to taste and enjoy here and it warms up amazingly well, so no rush at all. divine complexity and quality, long aged and better for it, but eight or so ounces felt like the max, at least for me. a pleasure to get to drink on this, i would definitely rank it among their best in this category, which is really saying something. they have set a new standard with this, wow!

The beer pours a fairly dark brown color with good head retention and light lacing. This is a BW that has the look of a beer that has seen some pretty serious barrel aging. On the nose, this is a very rich smelling beer, showcasing considerable brown sugar, vanilla, caramel and molasses. There's some light bourbon as well, and I appreciate that the molasses isn't overdone. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely in this rich sweet beer, and it's impressive how seamlessly everything comes together in this well crafted BW. Seems like I'm getting a hint of cherry as well in this quite sweet and impressive BW. Mouthfeel is very impressive. This beer is pretty full bodied, with a long, soft and very long sweet finish. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile, though you can tell the abv. is up there in this one. Still, for what it is, this BW is pretty drinkable.

Quite excellent, and a BW that strikes me as pretty ageable. Another impressive BA effort from the folks at Fremont m

This one pours a creamy looking dark brown, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like toffee, brown sugar, maple, dark fruit, port, spicy bourbon, oak, and vanilla.

Like pretty much every barleywine that preceded this one in the series, this is quite excellent. They've maybe gotten a little bit sweeter over time, but it's still a delicious sweetness. There's all sorts of complex maltiness - toffee, maple, brown sugar, vanilla, dark fruit, maybe a little bit of caramel and chocolate. There's a nice oak character and a little bit of bourbon.

This is medium bodied, with no real booziness to it, and a nice drinkability.

I always very much look forward to this release each year, and it does not disappoint.

On tap at Wildwood Taphouse.

A very dark brown with a thin, brown head with minimal retention and lacing. The nose is rich with toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, leather, a touch of earth and tobacco. Mild coconut, dark caramel syrup. The palate opens full and sweet with dark brown sugar, leather, a little oak, a blend of vanilla and coconut. Mild tannins work with the high sweetness. Shockingly well integrated with a pleasant warming heat. Full in body, bitter toffee and bourbon lingering in the finish. Awesome. The mouthfeel is full, creamy, supple with the dark brown sugar bitterness tempering the sweeter flavors.
Outside of notes of sherry, I'm not sure what age will do the this.

Draft at Homestead. Dark brown, thin ring of head. Boozy, malty aroma, brown sugar. Taste is sweet, luxurious. Rolls across the palate, velvety. This is a near perfect Barleywine. Boozy, sugary, sumptuous. Wow!

Appearance: Pours a clear root beer color with a thin beige film that disappears; leggy but no lace

Smell: Treacle, fig, date and dried cherry embellished by Bourbon and oak

Taste: Dried fruit and treacle forward with the fig and date arriving first with big dried cherry tones emerging, in the middle; might be some peach in the mix, as well; the Bourbon and oak arrive, with the swallow, and complement the other flavors through the finish

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low carbonation; some warmth in the gullet

Overall: Just superb; the best English barleywine I have tasted in quite some time and I do love a good English barleywine

Thanks, JohnGalt1, for the opportunity

Poured a dark brown color with no translucence with a beige head.

Picked up aromas is dark fruits, toffee, maybe a little bit of brown sugar. Very sweet. Not much bourbon though.

The taste is pure liquid desert. Again heavy dark fruits, mostly raisins, tons of toffee, brown sugar, and cocoa. At the end, it leaves a buttery finish. Very little bourbon.

Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Slick at the end. Absolutely no warmth.

Overall: I don’t pick up much bourbon but I think in a way, it contributes a lot of depth and richness to the beer. This beer is a huge treat and hope to have again.

Loved Brew 3000, so here we go! Poured from fridge temp. Pours very dark brown with little head. Nose is bursting with toffee notes right away. A bit of apple pie, raspberries, chocolate, rich malts, candy sweetness (like walking into a candy store), a hint of black licorice, and a bit of bourbon. The taste...holy crap. The taste blows the nose away. Sweet, but not cloying. Intense and mouth-filling. Toffee, toffee, and toffee. Bourbon notes are there for sure. There are some wood notes, along with intense dark fruit - figs, raspberries, dates. A bit of port, raspberry-cream chocolate, brown sugar, and a definite nutty influence. Hard to pinpoint the nuts, but I'm leaning towards walnuts and maybe cashews. Maple syrup notes are detectable. The mouthfeel is insane. Super viscous and rich. The finish is super long - sweet coating that last minutes. Overall, a wonderful English barleywine aged in bourbon. I would love to taste this without the barrel aging to compare.

22oz bottle served in a snulip. Date on the label is April 1st 2021.

Pours a deep brown, somewhat murky, with a tiny to non-existent head and little visible carbonation. Smell is a lot of dark dried fruit -- definite booze, some oak.

Taste is very sweet, lots of raisins and dates. Strong date flavor. Some syrupy flavor somewhere between molasses and maple, some tea flavor.

Mouthfeel is thick, almost chewy, but not sticky -- pretty nice. Overall, good, but dominated by that date/syrupy flavor.
