2016 vintage.

Look: Dark brown-black body, very thin brown head.

Smell: See below.

Taste: Caramel, oak, bourbon, milk chocolate, some pepper, maybe dates or some kind of sweet dark fruit.

Feel: Medium carbonation, full body, warming alcohol. Kind of sweet, but not cloying.

Ok, so I'm category rating this one. While it has peers, there's not a better wintery strong ale on the planet. Dark black, beautiful lava like slow flowing head, thick creamy full mouth feel, tons of nose !!! Tons of flavor !!! Tons of booze/Bourbon but well controlled. Lots of bourbon, vanilla, cocoa, caramel, spice, and a nut fill the senses. This one puts hair on the chest. Beautiful beer!! Let me say it again, beeeeautuful beer!

2016 vintage, poured into a taster. Tons of bourbon, chocolate and toffee with dark fruit notes shining through. Solid mouthfeel. Pleasantly surprised by this one.

Bomber into a tulip appears dark brown in color with a khaki head that fades leaving stringy lace.

This smells earthy with roast, coffee bourbon and chocolate.

The taste is bourbon and oaked with a solvent boozy feel before some caramel, vanilla and anise linger into the aftertaste.

This is medium in body with modest carbonation. A boozy yet enjoyable sipper with pleasant nuance.

Dark, nearly opaque brown body; thin yet lasting head. Scents of figs and dates; bourbon; charred grains. Flavors present notes of chocolate and mocha; booze. Heavy body with velvety overtone; somewhat hot.

Well now, this is a very fine winter ale. It does comes across well-balanced and delivers some nice complexity with the flavors. It is heavy and boozy, but suits the style quite nicely.

Aggressively black with a minimal milky tan blanket.

Smell is peppery bourbon, like Maker's--I like Maker's but the nose is just too hot for me--with some roasted nuts.

Taste is cola, bourbon, caramel, chocolate and pecans.

Sweet, smooth, frothy, but hot!

I can see this is very nicely done, but it's not hitting notes I prefer.
