Gold in color with a moderate amount of haziness. There's a quarter inch of off white resting on top. Heavy lacing. I smell some nice floral hops. The taste is floral to herbal hops and light malt. The body is body is light, smooth, and crisp.

A simple, very easy to drink ale. Just as its name indicated, very refreshing and light. It has a lingering bitterness for aftertaste.

Medium level of white head. Medium light, crystal clear gold appearance. Good amount of easy grapefruit peel, with a spiced fruity note and a bit of medium light toasted malt, for the aroma. Very balanced, subtle but very present, grapefruit peel and medium light toasted malt, for the the taste. Medium light bodied and finishes smoothly.

06/14/22 stamped on bottom of can. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.

A: Slightly hazy gold with 1-finger foamy white head with decent retention and solid lacing.

S: Orange, dank pine resin, melon, and honeysuckle at low-medium intensity make up the hop aromas, while the malt aroma is mainly light caramel and bready, toasty pale malt. Very light floral and Juicy Fruit ester aromas.

T: Flavor is solid but straightforward with orange, melon, and musky, with dank, herbal pine notes at low intensity with a solid toasty, bready maltiness. Esters mostly evident in the aftertaste with floral notes. Bitterness is medium with no alcohol presence.

M: Feel is light-bodied with medium carbonation and crisp finish.

O: Solid American pale ale but nothing out of the ordinary.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours golden yellow with a faint haze and a frothy cream white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Tropical and stone fruit, zesty citrus, grassy, floral, faintly herbal, bready malt, and a little caramel sweetness.

T: Lively citrus, grapefruit, orange/tangerine, and a touch of lemon, tropical and stone fruit, mango, peach, apricot, passion fruit, and a hint of melon, floral, grassy herbal notes, biscuity bready malt, and a little caramel sweetness.

M: Sits just a touch on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Really nice flavorful pale. Drinks more like a 6.5% IPA. For a summer crusher I wouldn't mind the body a touch lighter, but I'd still happily pack up a cooler of these for a day at the lake.

PKGD 05/20/22. Always pumped when I see a “new” Fremont beer at TJs in SD. Now called “Summer Pale Ale”. As described, a light, easy drinking, fruity-hopped, slightly malty, crushable beer. A four pack of tall guys is actually way too easy to crush. Oops.

Glass: Vintage 1981 Shaker pint glass
Price: $2.25
From: Trader Joe’s in La Mesa, Calif.
Purchased: June 14, 2021
Consumed: June 20, 2021
Misc.: Packaged on June 2, 2021 at 1:45 p.m. PT

Had Rachel pick me up this at Trader Joe’s with some other stuff. Fremont’s website called it “Summer Ale is back and better than ever! Bursting with citrus and melon flavors, refreshing and imminently drinkable, it's the perfect beer for any Summer day.” Hops mentioned were Amarillo and Citra.

Poured a pale-to-medium yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Plenty of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass at different speeds. Excellent foggy-to-foamy head. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Smelled pine, tangerine peel, orange, Amarillo, peach, grapefruit rind, Citra, lemon and citrus zest. Just as good from the can with the addition of some earthy malt. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got pine, tangerine peel, orange, Amarillo, peach, grapefruit rind, Citra, lemon, citrus zest, light peppery spice and some earthy malt. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.50)

Just a really good West Coast Pale Ale. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

16oz can dated 5/19/21 poured into a Teku on 5/30/21.

Pours 1/2" of thin, white head. Clear, golden yellow color.

Citrusy hop aroma with grassy and floral notes. A little pine.

Taste emphasizes the citrus and grassy flavors. Pine comes through with bitterness in the finish.

Light-bodied mouthfeel. Slightly astringent with medium effervescence.

Excellent pale ale. Light like a lager, but taste and smells like an IPA.

bought a single can off a room temp shelf about a week ago (about Aug0 6) and chilled it until now. Can dated 6/09/21. Website claims "fresh range" is 90 days from packaging, so I am well within that window.
Poured into a glass with an etched grid pattern on the bottom so the evolution of carbonation off the bottom is somewhat vigorous and very long lasting. Nice white head roughly a finger high, receding to a thin film that continues to cover the surface over a few minutes. No haze; very clear. A lot of lacing but not very sticky and it seems to disappear over several minutes.
Not much smell...at all, although my nose is not one of my better senses.
Nice flavor that is fully supported by the name "Summer". I'm picking up hints of lemon, lemongrass, and a bit of tangerine. A little bitterness. Clean finish.
Fairly light body and highly drinkable, especially in hot weather. Once again, this is a perfectly named beer.
Benchmarked against a pale ale that most are familiar with, I find this a tad lighter and tad more fruity than SNPA. A bit more yellow/ light gold in color than SNPA and a nice alternative to SNPA for someone looking for a change of pace while sticking to a pale ale.
