Pours a somewhat clear amber orange color with a finger of off white head. Citrus hops, soap, pine and resin, fruity malts, bitter grapefruit and lemon. Not crazy bitter but very strong. Medium body and low carbonation.

Overall a nice beer; hoppy nose though the taste was a little maltier than I expected. Wish the bottle had a date on it so I knew how old it is.

12 oz can

Pours a one finger white head into my can-style glass. The body is a burnt orange. Clarity is very high. It also has a bunch of carbonation. Overall it looks very standard so far.

Nose is a little juicy, citrusy hops. Trying to pinpoint what else is predominately going on with the hops, they smell very fresh that’s for sure, I don’t want to say earthy, because that’s incorrect. I’ll say dank, but not earthy, and not too dank, it’s a supporting aroma. Slightly sweet malt body. The smell is not a huge as I like, but I can pull the aromas out, and there is a decent amount going on. Regardless, it’s a good smelling beer.

Yeah, that’s one good beer. Very bright and pretty citrusy. I get a fair amount of lemon. Freshly cut grass. A very clean, simple bitterness, reminiscent of european hops, sharp. Just a little bit sweet. Maybe a hair dank, but not really, it’s too clean of a bitterness to be all that dank. Bitterness lingers for a decent amount of time. This is a very nice beer, and while it is a tiny bit sweet, it firmly lands below my “too sweet of a double IPA” scale. It’s quite refreshing, and that’s hard to do for a beer that needs a lot of fermentable sugars. Overall, quite nice here.

The mouthfeel is somewhat standard, medium carbonation, with a decently sized body, not bad.

The drinkability is very high for a 8.5% beer, it hides the alcohol very well, and it’s very refreshing for a beer over 8%

The appearance turned out pretty good. Lovely lacing all the way down the glass. The head was nothing special, but lacing is always nice!

Overall a very nice beer, simple in some areas, and surprising in others. An interesting take on the style, but a good one. I’m pretty picky with my doubles IPA’s, so the fact that this passes the test is a boost for the grading of it.

Hot damn! Picked up this beauty at Costco and was not disappointed....

Pouring a slightly hazy, pumpkin orange color, The Sister is topped with a full puffy off-white head. The nose is very hop forward...more citrus than pine, mango and other tropicals can be detected. The two-row backbone is there to balance, but only just. Slight sweetness in the finish. Great weight to sip or quaff. This one was a tongue-number, for sure.

Fremont has set their own bar pretty high, and The Sister delivers the goods. Great beer.

Pours a pretty clear golden amber with a fluffy white head that laces well. Smells of citrus, pine, and a sweet, full, and crisp malt profile. Flavor follows with a bit of a fruity sweetness. Feel is crisp on front but ends a bit full and rich. Some chalkiness to it, with a medium carbonation and a fair amount of bitterness. Overall, this is a pretty darn good DIPA, but considering the market, would favor other local offerings. Cheers!

A nice clear golden beer with a dense white head that leaves a doily of lacing on the glass. The aroma is different from most DIPAs and has a nice breadiness and peach notes with a whiff of pine. The taste is fruity and yeasty with a very mild sweetness. Very crisp and clean without being boozy. Really well done beer.

Golden amber, slightly hazy. Thin, bubbly head with streak lacing. The aroma is tangerine, butterscotch, apricot, peach and floral. Light bready flavor up front, along with honey, wheat, citrus, and herbal notes. Tropical fruit is in full effect. Pine and grapefruit are present in the finish with a nice hops bite. Crisp and clean, hoppy yet smooth. Such a drinkable and enjoyable DIPA.
