Wow. Just wow. My new favorite West Coast hoppy beer.
A very hop-forward Pale Ale (consider this beer a smooth IPA). The IBU's are definitely in the IPA category.
Delicious, grapefruit/tropical fruit notes in the smell and taste. You can really tell that this beer uses the freshest hops available, because the hop presence is massive for a pale ale, in the best way. Has a delicious pine/resin/floral note to the beer, but it's so smooth to counterbalance all of the flavor. This will be one of the first things I think of from now on when the month of September rolls by.

This beer makes me angry. Angry I only bought one can rather than the last six pack remaining at my favorite beer shop. This is one of the freshest, best canned beers I have ever had. Malty, hoppy and just flat out delicious. If only it was released more than once a year!

Wow, this probably has the most pungent, dank hop aroma of all. Very impressive. Taste is smooth and balanced. One of the best fresh hop beers this fall.

12 ounce can poured into a tulip glass.

All you can ask for looks-wise in an IPA: golden/copper body with a frothy, lace-laden head with good retention. Looks delectable. 5

Smells gorgeous. Grapefruit and unripe mango with a heavy floral dose and vanilla/caramel sweetness. 4.25

Bursting with grapefruit and orange juice followed by melon and a floral bouquet. The flavors are still bright, rich and delicious. Vanilla sweetness blends with the melon and carries the flavors out tastefully. 4.25

Zesty and juicy with moderate business balanced by smoothness and creaminess. 4.25

Delicious. No more to say.

Pours a nice, clear orange color with a one finger head on top, nice retention and lacing all around.

S: Wow, amazingly fruity. Tons of oranges and grapefruit, very juicy. Not much in terms of malt in the aroma. Extremely inviting.

T: More citrus fruit up front, orange, grapefruit, a little pineapple and pine on the finish. Slightly sweet malt mixed in as well, but the fresh hops dominate the flavor profile.

M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Easy drinking, slightly bitter finish.

O: Extremely impressed, a very good APA, right up there with the best of them. If only it was made year round!

On tap at Fremont Brewing in Seattle, WA. October 18th, 2011.

A: The beer pours a pale orange color with a very minimal haze. There is a one-finger head of off white foam that sticks around. The lacing is similar and does not dissipate.

S: This has a fantastic citrus hop aroma with hints of grapefruit, apricot nectar and mango. There is a hint of caramel malt, but the Citra hops in this beer are wonderfully fragrant and really dominate here.

T: The initial taste is one of caramel malt, but it quickly melds into a strong bitter hop note. Touches of pine, citrus, lemongrass are present.

M: The beer has a medium body with average carbonation. The mouth feel is dry yet oily.

O: Fremont knocked it out of the park with this one. They're not allowing growler fills of this at the brewery, so I'll need to track down some bombers.

22oz bomber from the brewery

appearance: served in my tyranena mini-nonic, clear-ish orange-amber body, creamy white head with a light filmy retention

smell: lovely hop bouquet - tangerine, bright grapefruit, lots and lots of citrus

taste: a really nice freshly hopped IPA - had this on tap at the brewery and loved it. I think its funny that it was a $5 draft but bombers are $3.75. Lots of bright fresh citrus - tangerine, clementine, pink grapefruit. Great stuff

mouthfeel: light and fresh, low bitterness

overall: one of the best fresh hopped IPA's on the market

Canned 09/15.

Bright and bold golden orange. Hazy. Great head, little lacing, decent retention.

Awesome nose on it. Heavy on the citrus and tropical fruit. Orange juice, mango, apricot, pine. So vibrant.

The flavor brings it, too. Super juicy. Tropical and citrus. Pine is a little heavier in the taste than was in the aroma.

Clean, fresh, finishes dry. Good carbonation.

What a great pale ale. And in a can. Get some.
