Fresh growler via Bottleworks. Hot Damn.

A: Poured a beautiful cascading deep golden, almost amber but dark and unexpected. Big, nice white cap, loads of bubbles and lacing. A sexy looking IPA!

S: The whiff leaves me thinking holy cow, this smells like the house Russian River IPA, one of my favorites. Some booze stings the nostrils. Other major notes are: Pine, grapefruit, orange peel and perhaps some bread.

T: Immediate grapefruit, orange peel, pine resin a bit slick at first but then it rounds out, presenting a nice crisp, dry hop bite on the end. A little bit of booze, some bread and loads of flavor overall.

M: Blanaced, tasty, light to medium body, carbonation is spot on.

O: One growler is not enough! One of my new favorites.

On-tap at The Publican in Seattle, WA. January 16th, 2012.

Made by Fremont for Brouwers/Bottleworks' new eatery The Publican. Uses experimental hop variety 369.

A: The beer poured a dark amber color, possibly a byproduct of the rye malt. A nice white head of foam was seen on top of the beer with extremely heavy lacing.

S: A wonderful aroma of spicy rye melds with grapefruit and melon. Slight hint of alcohol permeates the brew, but still quite subtle.

T: The initial taste is that of rye, immediately followed up by grapefruit, melon and orange peel. Nice bitter hop bite at the end. Unlike the nose, alcohol was not present in the flavor.

M: Extremely well-balanced brew with average carbonation. Heat is there, but almost non-existent.

O: Another great IPA from Fremont, can't get much better with this house beer for The Publican.
