Pours a hazy golden orange with a foamy white head.

Citrusy, fruity hops, light crackery backbone.

Surprisingly tasty for such a low ABV beer. I wish this as available in Oregon!

Labeled a session IPA but feels and tastes very pilsner-ish. A little skunky. Of course I had a bottle of this after having a can of Fremonts Summer Ale, so it's understandable that a lot of beers following that beauty would seem only decent.
I could see this being good while grilling up some oysters or burgers or watching a baseball game on a warm summer day, but for an evening of tasting it is somewhat underwhelming. All depends on the mood I suppose.

Served On-Tap

A — Pours a clear and light pale yellow color, a near pure white head forms on top and leaves behind some mostly consistent lacing.

S — Fairly unassuming, but there are some really nice floral and chewy hop notes, makes me think of Amarillo and maybe a bit of a piney Citra note as well.

T — Much like the nose, this starts floral and chewy but fades to a bit watery and thin bitter note. Certainly light, but there is enough hop presence to keep it interesting.

M — Almost thin, almost. Still enough body to keep this interesting, overall refreshing, clean, and balanced.

O — Good overall, a bit light for my preferences, but there are enough hops in there to keep you coming back for more.

Appears crisp clean amber. Small granular white head. Nice lacing. I didn't remember these floaties from previous cans.

Light floral hops and a bit of honey sweet malt.

More bready than I prefer. Malt forward, but with some floral and bittering hops. Something else too I can't quite put my finger on. Almost like a ginger or something. Last half brings forth the pilsener malts. Not my favourite variety. Finish is the malts and some mild bitter. Effervescent carbonation, with a crisp clean finish. Not my favourite of theirs, but certainly drinkable.

Poured on draft. Fairly tasty for a lightweight IPA; had nice aroma and hop flavors. Hop character was strong enough to differentiate this from just a pale ale. Clumps of yeast remained at the bottom of my glass. Overall, I did not find this to be anything special. Would drink again with no issue, but probably wouldn't be my first choice.

fremont has impressed me so far, and there are a few aspects of this one that i really like a lot. one is that its only right on 4% abv, so many session beers are creeping up to 5% and beyond, and it defeats what i perceive to be the purpose of that. the other thing i like is not sacrificing grain character to make a hoppy session beer. its not by any means overbalanced, but there is a mineraly bready base to this thats light and clean, and a great launching pad for the citrus in the hops, not watery, not sweet, just right for the beer, and i think thats usually lacking in the style. nice hop complexion in the finish, a little tame, but tasty and clean. the feel is vibrantly carbonated and minimal in body, making it extremely refreshing when ice cold. i like a few of their other beers better, but this is a nice contribution to the most popular new style on the market, better than a great deal of them.

Damn tasty for a session ipa. The citrus in this is what earned its rating. Not as watery as most session IPAs out there.

Fruity, slight piney bitterness. Light bodied, sweet malt notes almost reminiscent of honey. This is incredible for a sessionable IPA.
