Orange but not particularly hazy, was hoping for something more opaque. Like everything else I've had from MBC, the best quality about this beer is that it's super light and easy to drink. Nothing offensive about the taste, but nothing to get too excited about either. Date on the bottle was 11/9/16 (about two weeks old) but it tastes like it's been sitting around longer. Tasting faint notes of orange and a little black pepper. Overall, not a bad beer, but certainly not worth the price tag.

Bottled 031616
Hazy orange color. Small white head, ample lace.
Citrus and pine aroma, with some tropical fruit.
Grapefruit and tropical fruit first, then somewhat piney. Very solid malt background.
Well-hopped. I liked the late bitterness.
Great beer.

Had on tap. Pours hazy, orange-yellow in color with 1/3 inch head. Taste is lemon, orange, and small grapefruit. Very juicy, medium bodied, bitter with a sharp bitter taste at the end. One of the better beers I have had from a solid brewery.

8/10 bottle consumed over the weekend, so about 3 weeks old. Pours clean with a dark amber color, fluffy white head boils up and leaves behind good lacing.

Smell is a balanced mixture of fruits, malty sweetness, and some herbal hops. Flavor wise there's a big malty caramel note first, then some fruit notes like pineapple, subtle earthiness and a touch of grass after the swallow. Pretty unexpected for Maine.

Not as hoppy as I hoped, this was a malty let down.

Had on-tap 03/23/16 at Maine Beer Company in Freeport, Maine

Appearance - Hazy and dull gold in color with a white, island of suds in the center of the glass, with a thick ring around the edge.

Smell - Mango, with lesser notes of grapefruit and pine. A hint of pineapple, as well.

Taste - Follows the nose. Mango with lesser pine and grapefruit notes. Bready malts sit beneath. A touch of pineapple zing in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Near full in body with fair carbonation. Smooth drinker with a mostly dry finish.

Overall - Good, but frankly these mango bombs don't do a whole lot for me. They're simply too sweet for my tastes.

Pours a huge snow-white head, capping a hazy, translucent orange brew. Retention and lacing are fantastic.

Sweet floral hop notes waft across the room after the pour: honey, biscuit, malt, flowers. Up close, more traditional aromas of mandarin oranges, ruby red grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and a bit of resin come out.

Flavor doesn't disappoint given the aroma. Up front, it has that dry, grainy malt quality one should expect from MBC; on the back end, the Equinox hops provide a wave of dankness that announces itself proudly, but never rudely, fading to a sweet finish. Nicely bitter brew; MBC clearly haven't forgotten that there are more uses to hops than just dry hopping!

Crisp feel; medium-to-light-medium bodied, but full flavored. The body puts it just above APA territory, but the graininess steps it back from many modern IPAs, which tend a little closer to syrupy. Very active; semi-dry finish, with just a kiss of oily hop retention.

This is another really nice hoppy beer from MBC, somewhere in the neighborhood of MO and Lunch, but not quite as good as Another One or Dinner (for my palate).

This was poured into an English pint glass. The appearance was a hazy to ruddy burnt orange color with a quickly dissipating one finger white foamy head. Messy foamy lacing roams around the glass. The smell takes in papaya, mango, bitter grapefruit rind and combines nicely all around. Some light sweet grassiness lightens up underneath. The taste balances nicely mostly between the bitterness of the grapefruit but still brings in subtle sweetness from the mango and papaya. On the palate, this one was about a light to medium in body with a fairly nice sessionable sort of feel about it. Carbonation feels light enough to allow crisp bitterness to hit my tongue appropriately for the style. Overall, another nice AIPA from Maine Beer Company. I’d have this again, definitely!
