Notes / Commercial Description:
Our take on an American amber ale. Complex malt bill delivers notes of dark raisin, chocolate and biscuit. Copious additions of American hops yield notes of pine and citrus.

Dark brown in color, high opacity. Aroma is roasted malt with hints of pine. Taste is a sweet malt, nutty hints, and subtle bitterness from hops. Feel is smooth and clean. Amazing amber, tons of complexity to keep your taste buds entertained the entire pint!

Pours a beautiful amber body and has a nice piney nose. It has a medium malt body that is bready in taste. This is a very good hoppy amber and a great offering by Maine Beer Company.

Bottled 4/28/15

First thing I notice as soon as the 'Falcon pops the top in less than 12 parsecs is the layers that wash through my nose.

Once it reaches the glass, even with reasonably careful pouring I am still staring at two fingers of worth of pale creamy head that almost reaches stiff peaked egg white consistency. Body is dark ruddy amber fading to pale at the edges.

That nose I spoke of though... There's notes of blunt pine and of spice and of a bit of fruit and certainly some creamy biscuit/caramel supporting cast.

Wow. I'm not generally a fan of ambers/reds, but this is incredible. Starts off thick and bitter. Spicey and pine come through before the middle portrays little feints of sugar so that the lingering deep third deep woods bitter doesn't present solitary. Sure enough there's bits of bitter and sweet chocolate and bitter citrus. I'd almost consider this a long lost missing link between GREAT IPAs and GREAT CDAs.
Mouth is reasonably thick and creamy, though it does taste bigger than 7.2%. Not straight ethanol, mind you, but I probably would have guessed another 1-2 percentage points or so.
I was expecting this to be a solid offering, but I'm blown away. Would probably drink A LOT of this if I lived in its distro

Wow - smells of grapefruit and floral hops with a touch of caramel malt goodness. Taste follows perfectly - this is excellent.

Pretty much the best Amber Ale I've ever had. It is hopped up but only in a way that makes it better, not to just make it hoppy. Highly recommended

Sampled from a 11/4/14 dated bottle purchased in April 2015. Crazy that it remained on the shelf but curiosity overrode my best instincts and I invested none the less. Pours a deep brown reminiscent of strong tea with a huge fluffy beige head. Nearly fully opaque. Nose is vegetal with just a bit of herbal spice.while I imagine that at 6 months the hops have dropped off considerably, I found the taste to be quite balanced and pleasant. Rich caramel, malty Sweetness balanced on the back by hoppy bitterness. Would love to try this beer fresh.
