Our take on an American amber ale. Complex malt bill delivers notes of dark raisin, chocolate and biscuit. Copious additions of American hops yield notes of pine and citrus.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 1 pt .9 oz bottle on April 29, 2016. Born on 03.15.16. Look is crystal clear dark amber with an light tan head and sticky lacing. Smell is dark dried fruit, citrus, pine and cocoa with biscuit malt aromas. Taste is raisin, citrus fruit, pine resin and dark chocolate with biscuit malt flavors. Feel is medium in body with a smooth clean finish.

It has a grapefruit smell and bouquet with notes of orange and molasses that goes down smoothly with a clean finish. It is my favorite amber ales when out dining. After the third sip of all their beers your palette starts to really like their beers. The more you drink them, the more you want to try.

-Spiegelau ipa glass. Born on 02.16.16. Consumed 04.14.16. Best within 90 days of Born on date.

A: Dark ice tea exit from the bottle yields a beautiful dark burgundy coloring in the vessel with a medium density, 2 finger light tan head that is rock steady on the hold with a spongy, porous texture atop. Medium range, moderate paced effervesce makes its way to the surface. A beautiful presentation and great amount lace coverage.

S: Sweet toasted caramel and lemonade citrus on the nose, wet and fresh.

T: Toasted raisin-caramel, edgy citrus flowery hops, spicy with some semi-dry fruitiness. Lemon, nice toasted malting with some nutty appleskin highlights. Really clean flavor, well balanced with a spicy hop bite at knock out. A nice chocolate dusting on the tongue after the swallow.

M: Crisp, tingly mouthful, smooth texture, full bodied, nice feel and weight.

O: A very polished drinking hoppy red, reminds me of the first time I had an alpine duet, just very clean, smooth with a superb craftsmenship quality. Very well balanced for increased drinkability factor. A bit $ but a bottle is surely worth it. Hop bill and malting is spot on for ideal red.
