Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our “East Coast” version of a West Coast-style IPA. Intense hop flavors and aromas of tropical and citrus fruits and pine dominate. A subtle malt sweetness brings the beer into balance.

Lunch is a special whale that has been spotted off the Maine coast since 1982. She has what looks like a bite taken out of her fin, which adds to her unique character. We dedicate this beer to her determination and persistence.

Keep on swimming!

Look-Pale amber, hazy. Creamy persistent head, excellent lacing.
Smell-Passes the 3-foot test. Upon opening, aroma wafts into the kitchen.
Taste-Beautifully balanced, complex hops blend over good malt base.
Feel--Full and smooth, with perfect carbonation. Very good.
Overall--A fine example of its type. I'll gladly return.
Full disclosure: I drank this on February 9, 5 months after I bought it from the brewery. My bad. What can I say, I live in Pennsylvania and have to hoard these NE beers.

Appearance – One and a half finger head on a hazy deep yellow body.

Aroma – Very floral, a little grassy with some citrus thrown in.

Taste – Bitter pine, a little woody, some caramel malt, long pine finish that wasn’t too bitter.

Mouthfeel – Smooth despite the bitterness, easy drinking.

Overall – Very good, its reputation is deserved.

Beautiful golden color with a white head. Nothing can quite compare to a fresh beer. It didn’t spend a lot of time on shelf’s or in trucks. I have food in my refrigerator older than this beer. Well balanced. No face slap of hops. One lovely beer.
