Our “East Coast” version of a West Coast-style IPA. Intense hop flavors and aromas of tropical and citrus fruits and pine dominate. A subtle malt sweetness brings the beer into balance.

Been reading BeerAdvocate for about 10 years. So impressed that this is my first review. New to the East Coast (from Texas with frequent West Coast travel).
Overall: This is a really lovely American IPA that seems to split the difference between East and West coast interpretations of the style. Citrusy and floral like a classic West Coast IPA, yet sweeter (without overbearing weight and feel) like an East Coast. Truly terrific and will be buying every bit I'm able.

A: Golden, Hazy, mildly Cloudy
S: sweet, mildly dank and resiny, piny, citrusy
T: citrusy (good bit of grapefruit), floral,
M: light-to-medium, bright but warm

Great IPA. Just not a fan of the IPA style.

Bottled 12.30.14 and enjoyed from a teku today, 2.18.15.

This is crisp, clean, and tasty American IPA.

Lunch pours a hazy orange with light golden undertones. The nose is full of grassy, herbal hops, sweet orange peel, and bready, somewhat grainy malts. Tastes great but is very restrained: very mild dried orange peels, mildly bitter hops, and only lightly sweet. Mouthfeel is dry, quite bitter, clean, and creamy.

A subtle, restrained take on the IPA. Really made me realize how many IPAs and DIPAs take an intense, maybe over-the-top, and even a scorched-palate approach in creating a flavor profile (and how accustomed to that I've become). Lunch touches on all the IPA components - sweetness, bitterness, hoppiness - but keeps everything balanced and proportionate. Good, unique stuff.

The best single IPA I have ever had. Amazingly clean taste, not too bitter, but plenty of hop flavor that lasts throughout the entire sip. I need to try more beers from these guys...
