Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our “East Coast” version of a West Coast-style IPA. Intense hop flavors and aromas of tropical and citrus fruits and pine dominate. A subtle malt sweetness brings the beer into balance.

Lunch is a special whale that has been spotted off the Maine coast since 1982. She has what looks like a bite taken out of her fin, which adds to her unique character. We dedicate this beer to her determination and persistence.

Keep on swimming!

Pours a hazy light Amber color. Has aroma of pine and citrus. Flavor is citrus, a touch of pine and a mild sweet finish. Leaves a nice hop aftertaste. Overall flavor is nice, a little light but very smooth and drinkable.

5 day old bottle.

Pours an orange hue with off-white head. Some haziness present. Incredible aroma of earthiness and melon, I get some honey dew. This beer has an incredible piney finish, but it is lacking in depth. It's a really good "west coast" style IPA born on the east coast.

L: Pours a clean dark orange that you see right through. Looks just like Pliny in a glass.
S: This beer smells very similar to Pliny as well, huge citrus notes with a hint of caramel malt that does not muddle the burst of citrus.
T: Haha sounds pretty repetitive but if this beer isn't a clone of Pliny than I don't know what is. Clean and extremely well balanced. Although this is an IPA and Pliny is a DIPA they taste virtually the same to me. That being said this is a crisp and clean IPA with a balanced finish or tangerines, grapefruit and a hint of malt that has a sweet touch towards the end. Great beer would definitely love to have this on hand.

Appearance: Clear, golden color with two big fingers of head that fade slowly with thick lacing.

Aroma: Lots of juicy, fruity hops aroma; peach, mango, a little pine

Taste: Caramel malt with a hint of honey up front, slightly syrupy yet strangely a touch thin as well. Earthy, juicy bitterness builds to the finish, which has a pleasant, lingering bitterness.

The Rest: Great balance and an awesome aroma make this a really tasty east-coaster.
