Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our first run at an American Pale Ale. Flavors and aromas of zesty citrus, passionfruit, and pine present themselves throughout. A very subtle malt sweetness for balance, but this is intended to finish dry.

Just after opening our brewery, working long nights, weekends, and still maintaining our day jobs, my brother Daniel (the brewer) had twins. Cheers to his courage and dedication to making better beer.

Look: It pours golden and clear with a white head that has moderately good head retention.

Smell: It has an initial sweet fruit aroma of passion fruit. There are low levels of pine and citrus. There is a low level of bread in the background.

Taste: The flavors are pleasant, but tend towards being a bit more subtle in presentation. There is a bit of an orange flavor with passion fruit and low levels of pine. The pine makes a greater impact as the flavor lingers. There is a bready grainy element in the background.

Feel: It has a moderate body with a smooth and very pleasant finish that is semi dry.

Overall, this is a wonderful beer without the harshness that many in the same class has. Everything works very well together.

Bought during a recent visit to New York. Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Slightly cloudy yellow with a fluffy white head and excellent lacing. Very fragrant lemon smell. Crisp earthy taste, some citrus and pine. Pleasant bitterness. Great with food.

This bottle is pretty old for a pale ale, nevertheless, it held up very well. Please note the hop bitterness may be more pronounced in a fresh bottle.

A: Pours a well-attenuated straw gold color; with a nice, frothy, just off-white head.
S: Strong notes of melon (not watermelon, maybe huell or honeydew), with subtle notes of citrus and grapefruit along with a nice biscuity malt character and some sweetness. very fragrant.
T: In this order: Sweetness, melon, malt, everything else. The biscuity malt comes through almost at the same time as the decent sweetness, which is immediately followed by the melon characteristics and all the requisite fruit. There is a very slight bitterness that coats all of the aforementioned notes, present just enough to be noticeable and keep the beer from being too sweet, but no more so than that.
M: Medium body, not quite sticky but almost.
O: A great beer, easy to recommend, flavorful and easy to drink, with no real harshness to describe. Is it the best pale ale I've ever had, no it isn't, but don't let that stop you from picking this up where you can, it is worth your time.

Pint bottle purchased at Craft Beer Cellar in Plymouth dated 9/19/17. Hazy gold color and citrusy nose is followed by citrus flavors that may include orange and meyer lemon along with some malt. A very well-balanced beer with very little grapefruit bitterness. Enjoyable and easy-drinking.

Poured from a 16.9-ounce bottle into a tulip glass. Sample was approximately one week past bottling date. Beautiful juicy-looking bright orangeish-yellow color, with a thick white head that seemed to hang on forever before receding and leaving scads of sticky lacing. Big aromas and flavors of orange, Meyer lemon, and grapefruit, with lots of citrus-
zest bitterness and a bit of crackery malt sweetness to balance everything perfectly. Dry finish, with a pleasant lingering bitterness. This is, simply put, one fantastic beer. Bravo!
