Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our first run at an American Pale Ale. Flavors and aromas of zesty citrus, passionfruit, and pine present themselves throughout. A very subtle malt sweetness for balance, but this is intended to finish dry.

I poured this into a nonic. It pours a clear light golden color and leaves the same color body with a faint orange hue. The white head was about three fingers for about a good two minutes before slowly dieing. The lacing was light, and somewhat spotty. Some carbonation was seen rising. No rings were left as the beer was sipped. The aroma was entered around the hops. Some citrus came out to play, but very subtley. The taste was centered around the hops, some citrus came out but it was mostly faint. There was a faint malty backbone. The finish was mostly bitter and dry. On the palate, it was about a medium sort of body and well carbonated, with a lingering dryness, but was still balanced. It was mostly a drinkable beer. Overall, I say this is a pretty good APA that I would have again.

On tap at the Pour Taproom (SC).
Pours with a lightly hazy amber body and a generous white head that has very good retention.
Aroma: sweet and odd (but not in a bad way), with fruity and berry notes.
Flavor: tropical fruit and floral notes from the hops; faint bready malts. Surprisingly sweet for style: in fact, more sweet than bitter.
Mouthfeel: near medium body with soft, medium carbonation.
Overall: refined and mild for style, this has a distinctive but very appealing aroma and flavor.

L - Golden orange haze and pours a generous head
S - Very clean head, with pine, a candy sweetness, grapefruit and orange
T - Grapefruit and pine along with juicy citrus
F - Bursting with flavor but not overpowering.

Once again the masters of the simplicity taste is kicking butt again!

A very solid Pale Ale from Maine Brewing. I love Maines beers but they are a lot harder to get ahold of and considerably more expensive than Trillium
