Deep brown, rich and creamy look. Smells divine, like chocolate and coffee. Tastes dryer than it smells, hardly any sweetness. It's got the coffee and chocolate yes, but there's also this faint iron/rust flavor that's distracting. Might be a type of malt I'm not familiar with. Goes down smooth, very drinkable, but probably wouldn't get again.

From the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. This mighty fine little brew pours a
rugged blackish brown with a fantastic head of brown foam that settles to
a thick ring, thick layer, and shows some excellent lacing. Nose of earthy malts,
subtle pine and herbal hop notes, light bakers chocolate, and touches of coffee.
Flavors hit the note with a nicely balanced earthy malt touched with char and
coffee that gains malt bitterness strength from the bakers chocolate with a
hint of vanilla and cream in there with a nice moderately bitter hop note showing
pine and herbal hops. Very good mouth feel; medium full body, light carbonation,
and a rich roasted finish that is deep and rich.

Glad to have these beers here in Ohio and hope to see more of them---excellent
craft ales.

Cheers

16.9 ounce (500 ml) bottle, bottled on 01/24/2018. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, piney hops and earthiness. Taste is pretty much just the the aroma, but with some burnt/charred malt and floralness noticeable too. I like the roasty bitterness in this porter a lot Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's creamy and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think this is a pretty good all around brew, definitely worth picking up if you come across some! $6.99 a bottle.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a half inch dark tan head that was well retained and left little lacing. Smells and tastes of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, hops and some smoke. Medium to heavy bodied for the style, lightly carbonated, creamy mouth feel. A bit pricey but worth it.

It poured a very dark, browish black and left the same color body. A beautiful foamy lumpy mocha colored head appeared and lasted for a good minute. Some lightly speckled lacing appeared around the sides of the pint glass. No carbonation was seen rising due to the dark body, only one ring at the top of the pint glass, I like it. The smell had the coffee up front with some light tobacco chocolate in the background. The taste was basically the same, nothing really different. The palate was about a medium and a very nice smoothness and creaminess on the tongue. Overall, I’m very impressed and would definitely come back to this.
